Russians are not cut off in Kherson. The bridges are damaged but still can supply through barges.
It depends if Russia spent more ammo than they could replace, and those barge are under constant bombardment.

They also can get artillery support from other side of the river.

The General Staff named the directions to which the Russian Federation is deploying troops and plans to strengthen the offensive

To resume the offensive, the Russians are regrouping and deploying additional troops to the Donbass and Zaporozhye region.

"In the east, the enemy is regrouping the troops of the Central Military District from the Lugansk-Donetsk direction to the Kurakhov direction in order to build up its troops. After the restoration of combat capability, the enemy has additionally introduced one battalion-tactical group to the Slavyansk and Nikolaev directions," Gromov said.

In addition, Russia from the Belgorod region transferred two tactical groups to Orekhovo, Zaporozhye region. Such actions of the Russian leadership may probably indicate plans to resume the offensive in the Donbass.

Gromov confirmed that Russia is forming the previously announced third army corps, but whether those mobilized have been trained is still unknown. According to Gromov, it is this formation of Russian troops that will be transferred to the Donetsk region.

As UNIAN reported, the invaders moved the deadline for the capture of the Donetsk region. Now they plan to reach the administrative line before September 15.

Offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south: new losses of the Russian army named

Rocket and artillery units worked out at three control points, a radar station, and likelihood targets.

In the south, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine liquidated more than 30 Russian occupiers overnight.

This was announced by the representative of the Operational Command "South" Vladislav Nazarov, commenting on the situation as of 12:00.

He noted that the missile and artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine worked out fire missions at three command posts, a radar station, and two areas where enemy manpower, weapons and equipment were concentrated.
"In general, the confirmed losses of the enemy during the night amounted to 33 rashists, 4 T-72 tanks, 3 Msta-B howitzers, 4 armored vehicles and another ammunition depot in the Bashtansky district," Nazarov said.

He added that units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also prevented an attempt by the invaders to equip a new pontoon crossing in the area of Daryevka.

"Fire control on the Kakhovskiy bridge left several additional holes, continuing to fix the inoperability of the infrastructure facility," Nazarov added.

Recall that the Armed Forces of Ukraine with precise, "surgical" strikes "cut off" the Russian army from the supply of weapons and personnel to the Kherson region from the occupied Crimea.

Ukraine's plan could see it re-take Kherson without any fighting there

Ukrainian troops could re-take the southern city of Kherson simply by threatening to surround the 20,000 Russian troops in the region, Professor Michael Clarke, the former director-general of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), has said.

Speaking to Sky News, the defence analyst said Ukraine's counter-offensive was going "quite quickly" and was a "big offensive", running from the southwest of Kherson to the village of Velyka Kostromka.

"My guess is what they would like to do is actually surround the 20,000 or so Russian troops who are west of the Dnipro river," he said.
"If they can threaten to surround them then the Russians will have to withdraw from Kherson and the point is if they can persuade the Russians that they have to withdraw from Kherson then they can actually do that without having to fight for it.

"They don't want to bomb the city and so they might be able to get Kherson back simply by conducting this fast offensive which threatens to surround 20,000 troops."

Speaking on Vladimir Putin's decision not to attend Mikhail Gorbachev's funeral, Clarke said Mr Putin did not want to be associated with the former Soviet leader.

"Gorbachev represents all of the things that Putin is trying to reverse," he said.
"Gorbachev lost control of the process that he set in motion. He didn't really want to end the Soviet Union, he didn't want to create all the changes that happened and Putin is trying to go back on it.

"Putin in a sense is trying to distance himself. He doesn't want Gorbachev's legacy to be a part of his legacy."
