@Nilgiri sounds anti-liberal, doesn't he?
He's Tucker Carlson; his positions are known. He's part of the new wave of populist right, a movement which is white-supremacist to its core so it sees the main conflict between the West and the rest; and in this formulation they think there's no reason why white Christian Russia should side with the likes of China and Iran instead of U.S. They think U.S. establishment and Pentagon in attempts to revive NATO are alienating a potential ally against China and that instead of pushing Russia into China's arms, U.S. should try to court Russia.

Couldn't care less about Tucker (media lib grifter) or this telegram "uawarinfo" channel selective copy paste spiel.

I do enjoy the tears Tucker generates from the marxists (or the mentally stunted fellow travellers/useful idiots in their coterie) posing to be "libs" these days (an awful lot of "libs" are exactly that nowadays, having usurped the term by some inertia claim).

The enemy of my enemy is not always my friend. But I watch the fight anyway with 🍿 among these media complex ppl.

Basically if a martha's vineyard "lib" isnt hosting at least 10 illegals in its mansion before we get onto the other hypocrisies (of not dealing/facing with what it actually votes for)....I really couldn't care less about what a "lib" says and welcome every nasty thing an "anti-lib" inflicts upon it.

I feel bad for Ukraine. It got dealt a real rotten hand at really bad timing. The main answer for Ukraine lies with Europe.

The answer lies long term in foreign aid being fully private and not public. Be it Ukraine, Israel or anything with no direct borders with North America. If you want to finance it, you take money out of your own purse....simple. Who you give it to, buys what they want from you or whomever else to get whatever job they want done.

This will then start a good minimalism argument for US govt spending in general.....and the effin debt it piled up because these "libs" dont understand basic math and common sense (Biden is just one small manifestation of this for Martha Vineyard Obama's 3rd term).

That's the model when things are some ocean away.....people are tired of this crap increasingly thanks to Iraq and AFG. Libs and neo cons blowing all kind of actual social-conservative blood and psyche effort on such things.....while those two groups dont actually sign up for the military themselves....and live in gated complexes. Defund the police its waissis (but keep the cops for the gated posh areas....duh!)....illegals and crimewaves, the blue voting inner city minions can take it we have political monopoly no matter what right?

In the end this continent needs to learn a few things the hard way. Privileged brats with their manifest destiny in marxist "grass is greener on the other side" way lul.

North America will take some time to deal with its specific mental issues, sorry about that.

Europe understands Russia a lot more, as its lot closer in end. If Europe feels strongly, it can fork out 50% of its military stuff to Ukraine for example. Real simple. Action talks louder than words and bits and pieces of feel good donations.

New Ukrainian aid packages announced today.

Finland 🇫🇮 announced a new military aid package worth 200 million Euros. Per usual, Finland didn't release the contents of the package but it's widely believed to contain artillery shells among other key items.

Norway 🇳🇴 has made the request to its Parliament to provide Ukraine with an additional 10 NASAMS air defense systems and 4 launch control centers, valued at $326 million usd. Several of the systems would be delivered in the immediacy, while the remainder would be built and delivered over the coming months and years.

Strikes on Kharkov: 14 houses were completely destroyed

IMG_20240210_130330_118.jpg

Attack on Kharkov

On the night of February 10, Russian occupiers again attacked Kharkov. The fire, which occurred as a result of the strikes in the city, killed seven people, three of whom were children.

Rescuers continue to extinguish the fire, the police are on the spot: protecting the territory, establishing the number of residents before the fire, inspecting the crime scene, collecting DNA samples.

yeah looked like a complete disaster to me. Even looked like the interviewer was trying to hold back laughter at how ridiculous putins answers were.

To those who know the truth about Russia and it's history we know that Putin was telling mostly lies and stupid propaganda.

The dumb far- righters in the West that are Tucker's main audience for sure felt bored and didn't really like to watch a 2 hours long rant about the history of Eastern Europe when majority of them probably can't even point Poland or Ukraine on a map.

So basically the interview was boring and didn't really achieve anything when it had a potential to really boost Putin, Tucker and the Far-Right.

Interesting how Far righters and Right wingers in the West believe Russia takes pride in its Christian heritage at the same time when Russian nationalists praise the fck out of the Soviet Union even if a lot of Russian nationalists hate communism or despise it they still praise the Soviet Union because it made Russia the top dog.

They basically love Ivan the Terrible, Russian Empire and the Soviet Union because they believe Russia needs to be at the top. See both the Tsarists and Soviets as a source of pride.

Even if the Soviet Union had non Russians like Stalin the Maincore has always been Russia not Georgia, Kazakhstan or Latvia.

❗️Starlink works for the occupiers: the Armed Forces of Ukraine

They say that the Russians have officially bought Starlinks in Dubai. Now satellites are helping them at the front.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers complain that the Starlinks are being "jamming" for them, there is no speed.

There are two types of far righters in Europe:

1) The real ones, who know history and are ultranationalists, who praise the old fascists that fought against the Soviet Union. Those are hardcore anti-Russian and are more in line with the Ukrainian Banderites (like Azov). Those type of far righters have been like this long before it was fashionable (before the rise of Trumpism and modern far-right populism). They are not very numerous and don’t wield much political influence.

2) The modern far-righters, who are just uneducated fools who believe the politicians who say the most outrageous lies and tell them what they want to hear. They are anti-immigration, and everything else derives from this. They were easily fooled by Putin’s propaganda machine, because they know zero history and are very easy to be fooled with some nice words. Those are the classic Trumpists, easily manipulated and who are always used for the benefit of unscrupulous politicians.

Some key takes from our beloved Western media

"It was damaging to global democracy, giving ammunition to the craven congressional Republicans who want to do Putin’s bidding by denying aid to Ukraine. It was boring, "

Certainly boring is one key aspect of how the West values what is democratic journalism

"And it was a priceless propaganda gift, helping Putin in every possible way with his messaging – internally in Russia, and externally to the world – about Ukraine. "

Isn't that the very objective of journalism, to give access for people to forward their ideas and opinions on thing and let the masses think for themselves ?

"But here’s what the interview was not. It was not journalism, despite being a rare chance for a western media figure to question the Russian leader."

Surely CNN anchor Erin Burnett, flirting with Zelensky equates to what amounts to journalism.

"Even Carlson’s question – toward the end of the excruciatingly long session – about the imprisoned Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich wasn’t really a gesture of journalistic solidarity or a nod to democratic ideals about a free press."

Hey? can anyone from the Guardian and Western media tell what happened with Julian Assange, surely Erin Burnett (and much of the Western "journalist") didn't really thought much about journalistic solidarity when Julian Assange is kept locked for years and faces extradition to the U.S. ?

"Nor did Carlson say a word about Alsu Kurmasheva, an editor with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty who has been in Russian custody since October. Russia claims she failed to register as a foreign agent. And, of course, Carlson made no mention of the nearly two dozen journalists who have been killed in Russia since Putin came to power, with little or no legal accountability for the perpetrators ".

Nor did Margaret Sullivan say a single word about the American journalist, Gonzalo Lira, who sadly passed away in Ukrainian custody a month ago

Guess who reported his death in solidarity as a fellow American and Journalist? Yup, Tucker Carlson

According to Tatarigami from X, Syrski is :
1. A very unpopular general in the army
2. Incapable
3. He insists on high casualties-low return type of operation last summer offensive

Zaluzhny is out, the ‘butcher’ is in

The greatest military shakeup in Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion just happened: President VOLODYMYR ZELENSKYY replaced top commander Gen. VALERY ZALUZHNY with Gen. OLEKSANDR SYRSKYI, the former ground forces chief.

In a Telegram statement, Zelenskyy thanked Zaluzhny for defending Ukraine over the last two years and asked him to remain on the team.

Two Ukrainian officials told NatSec Daily that Zaluzhny’s next move is unclear. He has many offers on the table and has to choose if he would like to further serve in the administration. There’s speculation that Zaluzhny, should he leave government, could mount a political challenge to the current president. Media reports indicate Zaluzhny could also focus on his health and turn to a teaching career.

The question now is what Syrskyi, 58, brings to the war. Most notably he helped defend Kyiv against Russia’s onslaught and orchestrated a successful counteroffensive in Kharkiv.

But Syrskyi’s also known for leading forces into a meat grinder in Bakhmut, sending wave after wave of troops to face opposition fire. In the end, Kremlin-backed Wagner Group mercenaries captured the city.

For that and other reasons, Syrskyi is deeply unpopular with Ukraine’s rank-and-file.

“Very bad decision,” a Ukrainian military captain told NatSec Daily. The captain, like others, was granted anonymity to avoid retaliation or to provide their unvarnished opinion.

Another person knowledgeable of Syrskyi’s operations echoed that view. His appointment is unlikely to have a positive effect for Ukraine, as Syrskyi is seen by those on the frontlines as a stern Soviet-style general who callously puts his men in danger.

This person added that Ukrainian troops have given Syrskyi a gruesome nickname: “Butcher.” The captain confirmed that the nickname has stuck, as has “General200” — which stands for 200 dead on the battlefield.

The negative reviews keep pouring in: “General Syrski’s leadership is bankrupt, his presence or orders coming from his name are demoralizing, and he undermines trust in the command in general,” a Ukrainian military officer posted on X. “His relentless pursuit of tactical gains constantly depletes our valuable human resources, resulting in tactical advances such as capturing tree lines or small villages, with no operational goals in mind.”

A Ukrainian soldier also tweeted a message in a group chat of veterans of the Bakhmut fight: “We’re all fucked.”

Ukraine’s general staff did not return a request for comment on the criticisms. Zelenskyy, of course, voiced confidence in Syrskyi, calling him Ukraine’s “most experienced commander.”

It may not be the best time to make any sort of switch. The passage of roughly $60 billion in military aid for Ukraine isn’t guaranteed to pass through Congress. The shuffle atop the Ukrainian military could harden skepticism some Republicans and Democrats share of America’s support for the war effort. It also doesn’t help that there’s also a striking Washington Post report on how Ukraine is facing a critical shortage of infantry just as Russia steps up its attacks.

The move, then, “comes at a difficult time for Ukraine, particularly as ammunition and manpower shortages on the frontlines are increasingly acute and a new strategy has not yet been articulated,” said DARA MASSICOT, an expert on the war at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. “Zaluzhny’s successor is inheriting many challenges.”
