So basically the U.S asked Kyiv to halt attacks on Russian oil facilities because they fear a jump in the global oil price.

LOL. I thought they have a shared objective of crippling the Russian economy

Politics my dude. It's an election year in the USA. I've told you countless times that the West is self-interested. Biden fears that if Ukraine successfully damages Russian oil refining capacity to the point that it creates global shortages, it will drive up the price of oil. Americans despise high oil prices and in a razor thin election cycle between Biden and Trump, the Biden government is doing anything it can to avoid pissing off voters.

For the record, it appears that Ukraine "politely declined" the U.S. "offer". We'll see if that remains true over the coming weeks and Ukraine keeps striking Russian OnG assets, or backs off fearing alienation from the USA.

Geopolitics are very, very complicated. There are always numerous factors at play.

🤬 Today Kharkiv hit from 21missiles

19 of them are S-300, two are "Iskander" or "Kinzhal".

❗️As of 12:19 p.m. in Kharkiv, almost all fires that occurred after the strikes were extinguished - Terekhov

IMG_20240322_160746_333.jpg

"Now there is no electricity supply in the whole city. But we managed to partially restore the water supply, with reduced pressure. In addition, I want to say that we launched municipal buses on the line, which partially replaced electric transport," the mayor said.

"We need to close the sky over Kharkiv, we need the latest air defense systems. Only this would make -what is happening now- impossible," Terekhov emphasized.

⚡️Last night the enemy launched 151 attacks . 92 air targets were destroyed: 55 Shaheds and 37 missiles.

Energy facilities were attacked in different regions of Ukraine. The occupiers attacked the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station: there was a fire at the station (a trolleybus carrying workers burned down), but there was no threat of a dam breaking.

According to Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko, this was the largest attack on the Ukrainian energy sector in recent times.

There were 15 explosions in Kharkov, the city was almost completely cut off from power. The line that connects the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant with the Ukrainian energy system was also damaged.

Western world will sacrifice the second biggest city of Ukraine, unless they act.

❗️ Russia is recruiting a 300,000-strong army to capture Kharkiv, - Russian mass media

They write that the Moscow military commissars were already preparing for mobilization.

Moscow does not seek to turn Kharkiv into a "second Mariupol" and wants to demonstrate that it "knows how to fight in a civilized manner." And this is possible only in the case of encirclement, the source said.

That’s why the US is so hated all over the world. Their pity internal politics always trump the serious issues of other countries, and this creates the image of an arrogant country that doesn’t care about its allies.

When the US cares more about oil prices in an election year (despite the fact that the US is the world’s biggest oil producer and a net energy exporter now) than about the destruction of an “allied” country, the message they are sending to the world is that if you are allied with the US, you don’t need enemies anymore.

What they actually need is cheap long range drones to attack Russia non-stop. Russia is using S-300 missiles to attack Kharkiv because it doesn’t need the missiles to defend its territory as the attacks are very scarce.

The best defence is always offence, and in the case of air defence, it is alway much more expensive to intercept enemy missiles than to fire your own cheap drones.

Russia is attacking mostly with cheap Shaheds and S-300 missiles. It is not economically viable to intercept them with Nasams or Iris-T, not to mantion Patriots. What the West should do is to build cheap suicide drones in bulk and give them to Ukraine, to move the air war into Russian territory. But Western leaders are too stupid to do that so far.

The Presidential office called the news -of Financial Times information about the US demand -as fictitious.

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Presidential Office: “This is fictitious information. After two years of a full-scale war, no one will dictate to Ukraine the terms of waging this war,” he said.

Podolyak noted that the Russian Federation is now striking at the energy and civil infrastructure of Ukraine, in particular tonight. He emphasized that this is a deliberate tactic that is used precisely with genocidal intentions against civilians.

İron Dome which utilizes cheap Tamir interceptors would be great solution for Ukraine. Somehow Ukraine (or an ally country for Ukraine) should start producing own İron Dome ADS.

Western defense industry have high-end radars, just need to connect with cheap interceptors.

Footage of the Russian upgraded Kh-101 missile hitting the Ukrainian DneproGES this morning. In the video you can also hear the sound of the Russian hypersonic missile Kinzhal flying. During the flight, the Kh-101 missile uses the L-504 onboard defense system, firing anti-aircraft decoys. The missile was put into service in 2012 and is equipped with a turbojet bypass engine allowing it to reach speeds of up to 970 km/h at a range of at least 4,500 kilometers, the weight of the missile warhead is 400 kg. As a result of Russian missile strikes, the DneproGES received severe damage, and the station's turbine room caught fire.
