Politics my dude. It's an election year in the USA. I've told you countless times that the West is self-interested. Biden fears that if Ukraine successfully damages Russian oil refining capacity to the point that it creates global shortages, it will drive up the price of oil. Americans despise high oil prices and in a razor thin election cycle between Biden and Trump, the Biden government is doing anything it can to avoid pissing off voters. So basically the U.S asked Kyiv to halt attacks on Russian oil facilities because they fear a jump in the global oil price.
LOL. I thought they have a shared objective of crippling the Russian economy

"We need to close the sky over Kharkiv, we need the latest air defense systems. Only this would make -what is happening now- impossible," Terekhov emphasized.
That’s why the US is so hated all over the world. Their pity internal politics always trump the serious issues of other countries, and this creates the image of an arrogant country that doesn’t care about its allies.
When the US cares more about oil prices in an election year (despite the fact that the US is the world’s biggest oil producer and a net energy exporter now) than about the destruction of an “allied” country, the message they are sending to the world is that if you are allied with the US, you don’t need enemies anymore.
What they actually need is cheap long range drones to attack Russia non-stop. Russia is using S-300 missiles to attack Kharkiv because it doesn’t need the missiles to defend its territory as the attacks are very scarce.
The best defence is always offence, and in the case of air defence, it is alway much more expensive to intercept enemy missiles than to fire your own cheap drones.
Russia is attacking mostly with cheap Shaheds and S-300 missiles. It is not economically viable to intercept them with Nasams or Iris-T, not to mantion Patriots. What the West should do is to build cheap suicide drones in bulk and give them to Ukraine, to move the air war into Russian territory. But Western leaders are too stupid to do that so far.
