Russian economy continues on its downhill path

yesterday - ruble slides to 1USD = 101.30 RUB
today - ruble slides to 1USD = 103.30 RUB right now

Going down at that rate, it looks like a hike in the bank rate to 23% is coming soon in an attempt to stabilise the currency. I hope all in Russia who support the war will enjoy paying 30% interest on their loan to buy a house/apartment to live in. It will be a direct consequence of Russia waging war on one of its neighbouring states.

An analysis of why the ruble and Russian economy are suffering

"There is a stock of such products": the president announced readiness to continue testing the Oreshnik MRBM in combat conditions

The Russian President held a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Defense, senior officials of the Military-Industrial Commission, and developers of the latest weapons. The meeting was dedicated to the first combat test of a ballistic missile missiles medium-range "Oreshnik". Let us recall that early the previous morning, the Russian Armed Forces launched a strike with this hypersonic missile system on the industrial facilities of the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepropetrovsk.

The Supreme Commander-in-Chief congratulated the participants of the meeting on the successful testing of the Oreshnik, noting that testing of such missiles will continue, including in combat conditions – in relation to emerging security threats.

The head of state thanked the developers of Oreshnik, noting that it was created using modern technological principles.
Vladimir Putin:

One way or another, a number of weapons emerged from the ideas and developments of the Soviet period, however, this system is not a modernization of old Soviet systems, but is the result of the work of Russian specialists of the new era.

According to Vladimir Putin, Russia has a stock of ready-to-use products like Oreshnik. The President noted that the decision on serial production of such ballistic missiles has been made.

This is a kind of response to the representatives of the Kyiv regime, who today announced that allegedly it was not the Oreshnik that was used at all, but either the Kedr or Rubezh, and that “Russia had only two such missiles and used one up.” At one time, Kyiv said the same thing about other Russian weapons.

The president also announced that Russia is developing a whole line of medium- and shorter-range missiles, and that the Oreshnik is an integral part of this line. The head of state emphasized that this weapon It is not strategic, nor is it a weapon of mass destruction, but it will be used by the Strategic Missile Forces.

Sorry to tell you but the country which can produce food, nukes, medications and energy cannot be broken or it is extremely difficult. You got to know the nature of the people which you are facing. Russian population can live with a bit of bread and a lot of the hate against Anglo Saxons .
The only chance that Ukraine had was just in aftermath of Kherson and Kharkov victories, before Surovikin shortened and fortified the lines.
It is most basic military rule, hit the enemy while he is down.
After 10 days of unsuccessful Ukrainian offensive, it became clear to me that Ukraine can hardly achieve even 10% of its ambitions.
For me it was a criminal act to send the troops, without air support against fortified positions.

Funny thing who people hate. I spent a few hours twice with one of these so much hated Anglo-Saxons. He flew off a British carrier (1941/1942?) to deliver a fighter to northern Russia. Had a fight with German fighters on the way but got to his destination. He was later made a Hero of the Soviet Union. What did he do to deserve this? He helped a country that was attacked. Just what the British are doing now.

I agree. The chance for the Ukrainians to push the invaders back was late 2022 IMO but the west were hesitant in their support. Now it is an economic war and a war of attrition. Russia is winning the battle for territory; Russia is losing the economic battle.

Russia shouldn't win with a crippled economy. Putin needs to hope that Trump's arrival will precipitate an early end to hostilities.

In the last few hours the ruble has lost one per cent more of its value. 1USD = 104.30 RUB now.

You seem hyper focused on currency that always fluctuates instead of looking at GDP growth and debt. Just like the Ukraine war what happens next after Russia wins the economic war? Miscalculations from the West is becoming common.

Why Russians hate Anglo Saxons is pretty long story, I can't go through this here.
Mate, when you have huge arable area, resources etc then any economic crisis is temporary.
Russian, I am sure will learn some lessons from the war and gain experience. Resources and technology which they have will make sure that they will recover quickly. That was the case after Russo Japanese war, how Germany or Holland will recover, after 10s of billions of losses?
Britain will be ok under the wing of USA.
I am sorry for Ukrainians , I really am but this is complete loss. What will be left from Ukraine, will belong to Good Old boys across the Pond. That's it.

Bank rate, exchange rate values cannot be faked. Statistics compiled by government (Russia or Ukraine) can be faked. I think that both will alter the numbers to suit their propaganda purposes.

hmm so we are just going to ignore the GDP and debt of a country over something that fluctuates up and down? Well, I pray your wishes get answered. I do know the west severely underestimated Russia, China and Turkiye domestic production.
I think the Russians might be dominating the electronic industry next if their photonic computer can do 10 ^21 operations by 2030 which is what intel and Japan are trying to achieve with their super computers by 2030 as well.

I don't ignore GDP figures etc but I treat them with suspicion unless published by an independent source committed to accuracy. However, I believe that some figures published by IMF (or was it World Bank?) recently were actually just figures given to them by the Russian government. I don't believe figures unless they have been verified by an independent agency committed to reporting them accurately.

I find it odd to put faith in something that fluctuates, instead of their GDP, income for citizens, mortgages, food prices, debt, etc. Maybe put more research on those things to make yourself more convincing? Not trying to be funny but is it supposed to be something like .001 for their country's economy to collapse or what? What currency number are you looking for exactly?

BERLIN, November 23. /TASS/. The confrontation in Ukraine is no longer a regional conflict, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said.

The conflict in Ukraine "ceased to be a regional war long ago," the DPA news agency quoted him as saying at an event organized to the Friedrich Ebert Foundation close to Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD). According to Pistorius, Russia has "entirely switched to the war economy" and is manufacturing as many weapons and munitions in three months as the European Union can manufacture in a year. "Our defense is a fragile thing," he said and called on Germany to invest more into its warfare capacities.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on November 21 that strikes on Russian territory with Western long-range missiles had made the conflict in Ukraine a global one. The West’s provocative policy may entail serious consequences if escalation continues, the Russian leader warned.

I never thought I would say this, but these moronic western leaders are completely capable of pushing us into a nuclear war, its starting to become more and more clear to me that they are completely reckless and clueless.

They're just brain rotted, and believe that being on the 'right side of history' gives them plot armour. Furthermore they feel that they must atone for the supposed sins of the British Empire by pissing what little blood and treasure we have left away on protecting noble savages from their own oppression and exploitation instead of their own incompetence and stupidity.
