The "real tangible events" i saw in the last few years were the Germans, French working with Russia against Turkiye. Whether it be syria, whether it be libya, whether it be Azerbaijan.

As for Ukraine, the US forced the French/Germans to be against Russia. Otherwise they were happy to keep buying oil and gas from russia among other things. Don't forget the polish were angry with german russian pipelines.

Like i say its contingent on whether americans normalise relations, just like it was on America for pulling Europe into the fold in support Ukraine. No american support for Ukraine and only Turkiye would have been supporting her against Russia.

No one in europe gave a f'k about Ukraine until America made them give a f'k. So logic dictates if the USA pulls support from Ukraine and normalises relations with the Russians the french and germans will return to being good partners with Russia. Not only good partners but two of Russia's largest trading partners.

I still remember when no one gave a f'k about the invasion/annexation of Crimea in Europe. I still remember when Turks were selling Ukraine drones and Germany was warning us not to. I still remember the German general talking in support of Russia and her invasion, until american pressure had him removed from office. A short term hold means little. That is to pressure Ukraine for capitulations on their resources, with the intent that the support will resume. What i'm saying is if the Americans cut it completely and then normalise relations with Russia. If that were to happen the EU coalition will collapse like a house of cards.

And you forget its not about only France and Germany,its the EU without Hungary so this means they all chip in.

As for changing sides, in england they take the piss out the french for constantly changing sides, only the Italians get a worse rap for it here in the UK. And since France and Germany are the biggest nations in the EU, if they return to "business as usual" well nothing anyone else in europe can say and do about it. The media will return to muslim fear mongering and everything will be forgotten.

USA is the big dog, what they see or don't see does not effect the geopolitical realities. Its a bit like Turkiye, the USA has armed terrorists against us, worked to partition our nation. She hosts gulen and others, but at the end of the day were in NATO, Americans got their bases on our soil, bases that were used to transport weapons directly to the YPG and we look to buy their hardware. What we will feel is only so important, the facts on the ground is what matters. USA has global leverage that she constantly uses to her advantage and nations like Turkiye have to sit on it. Same goes for France, Germany etc.

Nah, if tomorrow they normalise relations Russia will become a good guy in the european media again.

Let me add something else, the anglo-american establish meaning the US/UK have always used Russia as balancing weight against mainland europe. At times cut her down when she got to big and at other times propped her up to keep nations like Germany, Ottomans, Chinese and Japanese in check.

Ill also speculate that the Polish visit recently to Turkiye was not just about Russia, it was Poland trying to find another hedge against Germany.

On a side not, truth be told a military alliance among the central states and those bordering the black sea makes more sense. That way they get to hedge against both the Russian threat and the German/French threat, or even A US/UK threat. None of them would have any interest on each others lands but all of them would have an interest to keep each other free from the rest.

The German Parliamentary vote has passed in 513-207 majority. It will now be sent to the upper house of German Parliament where incoming Chancellor Merz has the votes he needs.

German Government now will now have the power to spend on it's Military and and to help Ukraine, outside of the debt country's debt brake. Merz is an enormous supporter of Ukraine and has vowed to increase Germany's military support for Ukraine substantially, as soon as he takes office.

This is very good news for Ukrainem Germany stepping up into a signignificant EU leadership position puts creates a much needed challenge for Russia in Europe. The German economy is twice the size of Russia's. Germany makes some of the best military equipment in the world. Their ability to spend hundreds of billions of euros of the next 5-7 years will allow them to place substantial orders to their weapons industry.

An attempt to break through the Ukrainian army into the Belgorod region of Russia on March 18. The breakthrough was in the direction of the settlements of Demidovka, Grafovka and Prilesye. There were 5 attacks in one day. The tactics were the same as in the Kursk region, a lightning breakthrough in small groups, an attempt at any cost to go as far as possible into Russian territory. To repel the Ukrainian attack, Russian units used FPV drones, Lancet drones, Vandal drones and artillery. Iskander missiles, Tornado-S MLRS, TOS Solntsepek were used in the areas where Ukrainian units were concentrated in the Sumy region, and 40 FAB-500 bombs with UMPK were used.

Data on the number of Ukrainian forces varies, but it is reported that there were 29 units of military equipment, including 5 tanks, 16 armored vehicles, 4 cars and 200 servicemen. As I pointed to for several weeks leading up to Germany's vote on the "debt brake", now that it has passed Germany's outgoing Governmemt will immediately increase military aid to Ukraine by an additional $3.3 Billion usd in 2025.

This $3.3 Billion usd is on top of the $4.4 Billion usd in military aid that Germany has already committed to sending this year, bringing the current total to $7.7 Billion usd.

Most importantly, there is no ambiguity about what will be funded with this additional money. Germany has already noted that they will use the funds for a number of military assets that are already in the production pipe. They are the following:

- IRIS-T Air Defense Missiles
- 155mm Artillery Shells
- Recon Drones
- HF-1 and HX-2 Kamikaze Drones
- Additional Refurbished Marder IFVs

Zelenskyy confirmed the arrival of a 3rd batch of F-16s to Ukraine today. The number of units that arrived will not be disclosed for security reasons, but it's thought that they're arriving in batches of 4-6.

What this means in practice is that more pilots are graduating from the 4 training programs that are currently training Ukrainian pilots at the two European locations, the Canadian location and the American location. Approximately 70-80 units have been promised to Ukraine, but many will remain housed in Europe and will be sent in batches as Ukraine graduates the required number of pilots and ground crew to fly them.
