Russia is frantically trying to plug massive communications gaps after SpaceX CEO Elon Musk restricted the Starlink satellite communications system in and around Ukraine to only registered users. Both sides have relied very heavily on Starlink terminals for battlefield communications, and, more recently, Russians have been installing unregistered Starlink terminals on drones to provide beyond line-of-sight connectivity and resistance to jamming. This is a very troubling development for Ukraine, which is now experiencing attacks by drones suspected of using Starlink.

After winning their election, the sitting government of Japan has made the unprecedented move to join the PURL initiative for the purchase of U.S. weapons for Ukraine. At this point Japan will not purchase offensive weapons, rather, they plan to purchase items such as air defense radars, body armor and medical equipment.

Japan is expected to announce the contents of their first PURL package in the coming days, marking their first military aid for Ukraine since the outset of the war. Previously, they've spent billions in cash.

The.fungibility of money is why this is so important. All of this equipment is necessary, regardless of who buys it for Ukraine. If Japan buys non-lethal aid, that allows the contributions of other countries to buy more lethal aid.

Under the plan, Japan will bankroll purchases of non-lethal equipment for Ukraine – likely including radar systems and body armor – while continuing to avoid direct funding of lethal weapons.

In an overwhelming vote The European Union Parliament has officially passed the $107 Billion usd loan for Ukraine, enacting it into existence. The loan will consist of $71 Billion usd for Ukrainian military needs and $36 Billion usd for budgetary support. The loan will be distributed in installments over a 2 year period beginning in April 2026.

The $107 Billion will cover 2/3 of Ukraine's defense and budgetary needs for the two year period, while Britain , Canada , Norway , Japan , Australia and other minor contributors will collectively cover the remaining 1/3 ($53.5 Billion usd).

- Additional Mirage-2000F5 Fighter Jets
- Additional Crotale Air Defense Systems
- Additional Mistral Air Defense MANPADS
- Additional AASM GPS Guided bombs

France and Ukraine also signed a defense production agreement for the joint production of undisclosed weapons in each respective country.

Today Britain announced that they will become the 26th country, with a $205 Million usd contribution to an upcoming package. This comes one day after Japan announced that they would become the 25th participant in the scheme.

USA is willing to sell Ukraine's allies up to $15 Billion usd worth of weapons for Ukraine in 2026. Mark Rutte is leading the effort to maximize participation and diversification among participants to ensure that burden is shared.

London will contribute £150 million to the PURL program, as allies increasingly come under pressure to supply weapons to Ukraine.

The destruction of Russia is funded for two more years already, and Putin‘s fans still think Russia can outlast Europe in an attrition war.

At this point, Europe can budget the war for two years in advance, and if necessary it can do the same forever, until Russia’s economy completely collapses.

Meanwhile, Europe gears up its defense industry and ramps up procurment, while Russian refineries burn.

The funny thing is that if Russia continues this war for too long, it may end up with a well-armed Europe at a time when Russia will be at its weakest. This might have unpredictable consequences.

Denmark ordered these self-propelled howitzers from France in 2017. The Caesars were delayed for a long time while defects were being corrected.
