Yesterday I heard Trump saying that he did not want Ukraine to reduce Russia's supply of diesel. He was saying or suggesting that the high price of diesel was not due to his actions taken against Iran but rather due to Ukraine's strikes on Russian oil refineries and infrastructure. Since then Ukraine has attacked a Russian oil refinery in Syzran in Russia's Samara region on the Volga River.

I think that Trump is simply trying to shift blame away from himself for actions that have raised oil and refined product prices. Can a furious Trump reaction against Ukraine be expected?

People who leave Russia do not leave because they are incompetent. It was an economic problem for Russia, already short of labour, that so many competent people left Russia as a result of it invading Ukraine. Many more may leave if Russians come to believe that mobilisation is coming.

Russia is doing immense damage to Ukraine's economy but Ukraine's economy is around 10% the size of Russia's. Europe can afford to make up for the loss of consumer goods production by supplying it with goods.
Damage to infrastructure is a more intractable problem.
