Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has held a joint press conference with his UK counterpart Liz Truss in Kyiv. Official Kyiv, London, and Warsaw have set up a trilateral alliance.

“The United Kingdom, Poland, and Ukraine enjoy deep historical ties, built on shared values, a shared commitment to peace and security, and a shared history of standing together against aggressors who threaten freedom in Europe. To this end, we agreed today to develop a Trilateral Memorandum of Co-operation. This will demonstrate our commitment to further strengthening the strategic cooperation and engagement between our three nations on the highest priority issues in support of Ukraine,” the joint statement by the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reads.

The countries would work together to advance our cooperation, which includes but not limited to coordinating support to the International Crimea Platform, increasing our collaboration on cyber security, energy security, and boosting strategic communications to counter disinformation.

Living close to a neighbor like Russia, we have the feeling of living at the foot of a volcano,” Polish PM Morawiecki said earlier this month.

On the eve of her two-day trip to Ukraine, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss cautioned against being lulled into a false sense of security by Russian claims that it is withdrawing its troops.

According to the latest data, about 140,000 Russian troops are concentrated at the borders of Ukraine. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense does not record the real withdrawal of Russian troops, as claimed by the Kremlin.

Amid the growing threat of a new Russian invasion of Ukraine, a number of countries are sending their military assistance to support the Kyiv government. The UK has sent 30 elite troops and 2,000 NLAW anti-tank missile systems to Ukraine amid fears of the Russian invasion. In addition, the Polish Government adopted a resolution on the free transfer of military equipment to Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
