NATO-Ukraine drills, September 2020


Joint combat exercise of Ukraine's Armed Forces and NATO representatives took place in Khmelnytsky region, central Ukraine. Press office of the Command of the Special Forces reported that on September 24.


A Special Forces unit and their counterparts from the Alliance conducted training missions on various landscapes, involving a number of tactical, medical and other aspects. The groups cooperated closely, and eventually completed a joint task in the given point", the message said.

According to the Special Forces Command, the Ukrainian forces managed to showcase their unique capabilities that will let them carry on with successful cooperation with the Alliance member countries.

On September 23, the strategic U.S. bombers B-52H entered the air space of Ukraine. They were escorted by Ukrainian air superiority fighters, the Su-27s and MiG-29s from tactival aviation brigades.


The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv added that the flight of the American bombers could be seen in Kyiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Dnipro, Poltava, and Cherkasy.


According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the American pilots create the possibilities of collective defense and provide strategic and operation possibilities to the U.S., NATO countries, and key partners of the alliance.
