Intervention on Turkish television, which is interviewing women from the Taliban!

With the radical religious Taliban group taking over the administration without encountering resistance in Afghanistan, chaos reigned in the country. While most of the citizens were looking for ways to flee the country, Habertürk journalist Mehmet Akif Ersoy went to Afghanistan to report what happened there.

THEY HAVE DELETED THE IMAGES

Publishing from Kabul, Ersoy wanted to interview a woman today. Ersoy, who conveyed what he experienced on live broadcast, said that the Taliban members came running to them and intervened in the interview and had the footage deleted.

Explaining that he said "Calm down, we are Turks", the journalist underlined that the Taliban members did not listen to them and said: "He has an American-made rifle in his hand. He puts the bullet in his mouth and points it at you and says 'Delete' directly. I handed the phone to him, all the images. We then recovered some of the images they deleted"

'THERE IS HARD INTERVENTION'

Stating that he was subjected to intervention twice, Ersoy said, "There are places where we could never take pictures, there are terrifying images. There are harsh interventions."

'EVERYONE IS IN GOING TO ESCAPE FROM KABUL'

"There are people crowding in front of embassies. We interviewed some people. Most of them are trying to escape from Kabul." Ersoy continued: "Not only because of the fear of the Taliban, but also people who have been to a Western country for a few days wanting to find a job also want to leave the country."

A part of the video was rescued after being deleted by the Taliban clearly shows how Taliban prevents even Turkish Journalists from conducting interviews. That part shows clearly how the Taliban comes swinging his M16 in hand to the Turkish Journalist, and he had to hand over the camera so the Taliban could delete it all. After getting back to the airport tech guys were able to rescue some of the video as it seems even deleting doesn't erase the whole data immediately.

I think the video clearly shows that The Taliban showing a nice face today is losing the mask each passing day, and who knows how it'll be tomorrow. And they didn't care the journalist was Turk either.

40% of all civilian casualties from airstrikes in Afghanistan – almost 1,600 – in the last five years were children

Source AOAV
published : 6 May 2021

Hundreds of children have been killed and hundreds more injured by US and Afghan airstrikes in the past five years, UN data analysed by AOAV can reveal.

Between 2016-2020 (inclusive) there have, in Afghanistan, been:

  • 3,977 total civilian casualties from airstrikes: 2,122 civilians killed, 1,855 civilians injured
  • 1,598 total child casualties from airstrikes: 785 children killed, 813 children injured
  • 40% of all civilian airstrike casualties were children (1,598 of 3,977)
  • 37% of those civilians killed by airstrikes were children (785 of 2,122)
  • 44% of those civilians injured by airstrikes were children (813 children of 1,855 total)
  • The majority (62% – 1,309 of 2,122) of civilian deaths from airstrikes were caused by international forces.
  • The majority (50% – 2,000 of 3,977) of overall civilian casualties (deaths and injuries) were also caused by international forces.
  • Overall casualties from international airstrikes more than tripled between 2017 and 2019, from 247 to 757.
Explaining the high numbers of child deaths requires context. As foreign ground troop numbers have dwindled in Afghanistan, with a full pull-out expected in September 2021, the NATO operation has become increasingly reliant on US aerial operations, alongside their ally the Afghan Air Force, in their fight against the Taliban. But this form of offensive, especially when used in populated areas, has had devastating impacts on Afghan civilians in the past five years, as an analysis of data from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) reveals.

The road to almost 1,600 children being killed by airstrikes in Afghanistan was paved, in part, in late 2017, when then-Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis announced that the Rules of Engagement for airstrikes against the Taliban had been loosened, enabling the US Air Force to conduct more airstrikes. This was part of President Trump’s promise to “lift restrictions and expand authorities” for fighters in Afghanistan.

In each of the following two years, the US dropped more weapons on Afghanistan than in the height of their presence in 2011 – at a rate of more than 20 a day.

Such heavy bombardment resulted in the deadliest year of airstrikes for children in Afghanistan on record, AOAV can reveal. In 2018, 236 minors were killed by airstrikes. Another 256 were injured, leaving a total of 492 child casualties This was an 85% increase on the year before, resulting in a rate of four child casualties every three days.

The majority (57%) of these child casualties were caused by US-led international forces.

Some good news from Pakistan.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said on Monday the Afghan Taliban had reassured the government that the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) would not be given permission to operate in Afghanistan against Pakistan.

With regards to Taliban V.01 and their handling of America after 9/11 while it is true USA was behaving like a raging bull - I am sure most people will be aware Pakistan was threatened by USA - 'bomb you to stone age' but the fact is Taliban failed to handle the raging bull in the appropriate and prudent manner they should have knowing the consequences.

OBL had been already for few years on American radar. By 2000 the Americans had bombed Sudan and driven PBL out of that country. There are over two dozen Arab countries yet not one was prepared to give hom refuge. The reason was simple. OBL was a Saudi citizen of Yemeni Arab heritage but no Arab country could risk or afford to give refuge to him in fear of the deadly consequences.

Yet, one of the most poorest and vulnerable countries on earth, Afghanistan decided to give him refuge. To use the English idiom Afghanistan needed OBL like 'need to have hole in head'. The moment Taliban gave him refuge they had sealed the lives of half million Afghan babies, children and citizens. As a government they had no right to place their country at risk for sake of a Arab.

We can slice and dice about the exact nature of negotiations but this alone is enough. If any of you were driving your car with your family would you guys pick up a hitchhiker knowing he is wanted by the police and by placing your family adjacent to him you might make your kids collateral dam,age in a police shootout?

Tajikistan is small player and entirely depends on Russians to even guard it's frontier. Uzbekistan is the key regional country in Central Asia. Tajikistan will go where Russia goes so we can expect Tajikistan to fall in line unless the Russians are up to something dodgy.
