On topic gentlemen may I offer cup of nice, hot Yorkshitre tea to all here. It is with incredible satisfaction that I see Afghanistan cleaned out. Even more pleasure I draw from seeing DG Faiz Hamid not only in Kabul but sporting a smile on his face. I have never seen a photo of him with a smile. He always wears a cold, poker face. Something good must have happened, it can't be the beef pulao he had In Kabul wasshed down with Kawa that did it.
A great day for Afghanistan and Pakistan. To add to this all other countries who are still in Kabul like Turkey, China, Qatar etc are Pakistan's chums. I am not a very religious man but on this day and with respect to Taliban I can say Alhamdulillah.
On another note I invite everybody to google and find out what Hindu Kush - the main moountain range in Afghanistan means.

And by the way say thanks to the Indian tax payer for the $3 billion you invested ijn Afghanistan. We Pakistan, China and Afghans will make ample use of that.

Just want to clarify few things here. By being ecstatic does not mean I agree with the world view, politics or religious interpretation of the Taliban. I know vast majority of Afghans are deeply religious and conservative. It is this vast majority that provided oxygen to Taliban to be able to sustain their war for 20 years against a superpower and NATO alliance. The fact is in the 21st century you cannot change people's minds with planes, guns or tanks as the recent US occupation has shown.
However, as they say the 'only constant is change'. The fact is Afghan society will evolve. I give my own example. When I was with my grandmother in Pakistan last year I could see the oceans differance in my thinking and her world view. Although I was a genetic offspring I shared little with her. I mostly agree with her on everything simply because it was polite thing to do and I knew she was from another era. Change is a process. Generation by generation.
So it will be with Afghanistan. What we want to see there is peace and let economic progress, stability take root which over time will augur evolving society. There will one come one day when Afghanistan will evolve to where Turley is today. We should never sniff at other societies which are at differant points on the evolutionary trajectory. In short let time do its work. Force will not and has failed.
With that out of way I hope we are about to see dawn of a new regional order which offers incredible opportunity to Pakistan. Imagine Turkey being entirely locked off from Europe in the west, enemy to the east, chaos to the south and sea to the north. A country almost locked in. While Turkey may have some issues with some neighbours but her western flank is open to Europe and the NATO realm.
Well for Pakistan Afghanistan was a plug that had locked out Pakistan from gas, oil and trade of Central Asia - a region which is right next to Pakistan. The hope now is within decade we have rail, roads and pipelines going from Af-Pak into Central Asia and beyond. This is all possible with the muscular Chinese economic resources. A extension of CPEC into Afghanistan would provide masive boost to the project.
This was discussed in length by PM Imran Khan with Uzbek President few months ago. Now lets wish the region the best. Te Pakistani policy has been summed up by the Pak NSA as 'geo-economic's. The fall of Kabul now makes this possible. Thus my optimism.
