Uzbek, Russian troops to conduct exercises on Afghanistan border

Troops of Russia's Central Military District will participate in joint exercises with Uzbek forces in the Surhanderia region in southeastern Uzbekistan in early August, the regional press office reported.

“During the exercises, Russian army personnel will conduct combat reconnaissance and ambush operations in high mountainous terrain, with their Uzbek counterparts planning and executing operations to eliminate illegal armed forces, " the press office said in a statement." said.

The statement said the active phase of the exercises would be carried out at the Tirmiz training site on the border with Afghanistan. A peacekeeping formation and personnel of the Central Military District Special Operations brigade will represent the Russian contingent in the exercises, according to a press office statement.

The Uzbeks want to act with the Russians in Afghanistan.

General Alexander Lapin, commander of the Central Military District, had previously said that during the summer training period, 9 joint international exercises will be held on the territory of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The peacekeeping mission said the 2021 counterterrorism exercises would be the main event of training as a unit.

Russia also conducted exercises with the S400 on 15 April. The Russian Defense Ministry said tactical exercises were being conducted with S-400 air defense missile systems stationed on the country's southern borders. Along with a statement from the ministry, images of the shooting were also served. In the images served, the missiles of the S-400 air defense system were successfully fired from the Lancers, but there are no signs of destruction of the targets. “The S-400 air defense system of the Southern Military District destroyed fake enemy air targets as part of a tactical exercise at the Telemba special training site in Buryatia, " the ministry said in a statement."the statement was included.

I think RTE and AKP should start having talks with Taliban. The reason not to have these talks would be to save face from being told to fuck off and this being reported by newspapers.
It is absolutely in interest of Pakistan and Turkey to have a joint strategy with regards to Afghanistan. Pakistan is the most important country when it comes to Afghanistan. Kabul is literally 90 minutes drive to Peshawar in Pakistan and only 200 miles from Islamabad. We have about 3 million registered/unregistered Afghan refugees in Pakistan with many born in the country as they have been 'refugees' since Soviet invasion of 1979.

Geographic logic imposes it's own dynamic and the map below shows you why Afghanistan is vital to Pakistan. Anything happens in Kabul will resonate across the border inPeshawar, Pakistan and even capital of Pakistan - Islamabad.

Afghan collaborators are in a hurry… The USA made its decision

Seems some 18K has applied for a visa to US, but the US has only begun working on about half of them.

I wonder if Rambo is going to shoot a new movie showing what happens to those collaborator who doesn't get to escape Afghanistan.

US asks Afghanistan’s neighbors to shelter its ex-employees who fear Taliban retaliation after troop pullout - media

Thousands of Afghan citizens eligible for US visas after working for the US government may soon move to a different Central Asian country, where they will presumably be safe from retaliation while their applications are processed.

Afghanistan’s neighbors Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as Kazakhstan, may shelter as many as 9,000 Afghans qualified for the so-called Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program. It is meant for people who worked for the US government or the NATO-led coalition that invaded Afghanistan two decades ago and now face retribution in their home country.

The agreement will be part of a broader deal between the US and the three Central Asian nations on the role they will play after the US withdraws most of its troops from Afghanistan, Bloomberg reported on Friday. Washington wants to use their territory to launch intelligence-gathering, surveillance and reconnaissance operations, according to Bloomberg’s sources, which were not named by the outlet.

The Americans are dumping their Afghan allies in Central Asian States.

In other words we dont want them but are dumping them to other countries.

Central Asia has now becoming a dumping ground for collarborators.
