Can someone explain to me how Afghanistan became a big issue for Turkey almost overnight? Its a country filled with culturally the most backward of people, why has this become a big concern for Turkey?
Look at the map and geography. Why was the US/NATO in Afghanistan for 20 years? They could have roasted OBL from a safe distance. LOL I always laugh at US/NATO justifications. We needed to be there to contain AQ and Taliban. That is just baloney and everyone knows it. Why is China now interested? Geostrategic location that provides access to riches. Just because Afghanistan is backward doesn't mean that its surrounding is. Do you know that Afghanistan itself sits on trillions worth of minerals and other natural resources? Who gave a crap about illteracy and backwardness. Nations are interested in geopolitical and economic interests. Whether I can secure these interests through the Taliban or Peppa the pig is irrelivant.
By the way, the US/NATO gang has supported bacha baaz Northern Alliance warlords who formed a government and ruled over Afghanistan for a good two decades. Karzai and his clan are involved in mass opium cultivation. Not particularly a poster boy for democracy and human rights if you ask me. Weren't they backward? In the next tent boys used to get molested. US/NATO soldiers and generals used to pretend it never happened. Afghan officials are bribed with CIA coffers filled with US taxpayers money. Yet the US/NATO kept supporting them and turned a blind eye.
There is no such thing as concern for human rights, women's rights blah blah. There are only interests. Whenever any individual, group, nation or bloc mentions any of these fancy words my advice would be to laugh it off.
