The whole Marine Corps has to 'modernize' and 'westernize' though.

It is possible that we can pioneer innovation in the Marines because in the world there's practically only 2 Kiblat of Amphibious Warfare, the US-NATO and the Russian-Eastern. US model is way too expensive and large, and also inseparable from the power of US Carrier Fleet, while the Russian one is simply outdated. We can and should make the third way, designing the Marine according to our needs.

Let's say our enthusiasm in building LPD (and possibly LHD) will become very handy in designing future modernization. From LPD and LHD there will be at least one Brigade of Marines ready to be deployed at any time, similar to Kostrad Division. Harimau, Pandur ANOA 3, and AAV + KAPA for men, artillery and equipment, can be deployed anytime. Amphibious capability not only projected via ship but also from helicopters air assault. After the Marines secured a beachhead, the LSTs will lands the Army troops.

we have zero enemy tho, India has Pakistan and PRC constantly being threat to India sovereignty, Sokor and Turkiye (which also has hostile neighbor) being US close allies as well as the front gate of its western block, while IDN trying to be NoN BlOcK and the IDN politician tend to cease the research who cant generate profit quickly (BRIN: wink wink)

I can't say much for the overall situation but for the submarine alone, we already lost 1 old submarine along with the whole crews and there is still 1 other old boat in service definitely need to be replaced ASAP. We have a target number for submarine to have, 8/12/ idk we keep changing stuff. Submarine acquisition + local production is 1 out of 10 national priority program actually but despite all of it, it is still mbulet.
We need clarification about Nagapasa batch 2 and when the scorpene will be built.
Oh yeah and what is the fate of AH140 Frigate.

1. Armor: Frontal armor, particularly the sight beside the gun, is unarmored. This alone is very dumb as the front part of a tank is the one most likely to be shot.

2. Ammunition rack: They don't have blast door yet stored similarly to western MBTs, arguably worse than most Russian MBT, because at least they keep ammunition in a safer position.

3. Ammunition itself: This is the most hilarious part, they say the sabot round caliber is 120mm yes, but the length is much shorter than proper western sabot round

Then the Tejas fighter jet, probably not any better than Korean FA-50, so it doesn't prove anything that Indian development is "superior".

And nobody "overrate" Indonesia, giving us a fairer assessment of our situation. On the other hand, as you can see people overrate India, heck Indians themselves even pressure people who are critical of their shortcoming. Isn't that even worse? if someone is unable to take criticism, then they simply suck, because they have no answer.

Indonesians are commonly pessimistic and fatalistic, but it allows us to recognize what went wrong with ourselves. I mean how often you see Indonesian celebrates their nation's success? Rarely, even if we really do deserve some appreciation. Indonesian like to compare to others and belittle themselves, even against those are actually worse, like Vietnam and Thailand. Basically Indonesians believe everything is worse in Indonesia, everything better in other countries, when it is not necessarily true.

I suppose it is due to our education and culture. Teachers like to humiliate student, and students like to humiliate each other, making many people grow up feeling they are just worse than everyone else, this in turn projected onto Indonesia as a whole. What's worse is our "Anak Emas" culture, some student in the school are considered the smartest and popular, and they get every love and attention, others are left to rot, because they are considered nothing. Combine everything and what you get is a nation who feel they are worse than everyone, and loves to compare, yet at the same time always have some kind of idol they worship, be it a person (ehem, SM), or foreign countries.
