Stances about Americanize or ban TikTok of possible US Presidential candidates

1) Trump

“Billionaire investor and Club for Growth donor Jeff Yass holds a 15 percent stake in TikTok’s parent company ByteDance, which is based in Beijing. Club for Growth leaders have been vocal opponents of moves to ban TikTok. Former President Donald Trump praised Yass as “fantastic” when they were both at a Club for Growth retreat as the presumptive Republican nominee courts Yass to help his presidential campaign.

Shortly after the meeting, Trump wrote on Truth Social Thursday, “If you get rid of TikTok, Facebook and Zuckerschmuck will double their business. I don’t want Facebook, who cheated in the last Election, doing better.”

2) Biden

President Joe Biden on Friday endorsed legislation that could lead to the popular video-sharing app TikTok being banned in the United States, a move that comes amid growing concern in Washington about keeping Americans’ data out of China’s hands.

The legislation that passed through the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee unanimously on Thursday calls on China’s ByteDance to divest its ownership of TikTok — or effectively face a U.S. ban. Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson also supports the bill and has indicated it would soon come up for a full vote in the House.

If they pass it, I’ll sign it,” Biden said when asked by reporters about the legislation.”

Iraqi Kurdistan CTG of PUK party
If you asking, “isn’t that CTG government’s unit?”, budgetary yes, but substantial control, not so much.

In Iraqi Kurdistan, politics (and Peshmerga’s loyalties) divided into 2 groups; KDP in Irbil (yellow zone) and PUK in Sulaymaniyah (green zone) which CTG’s HQ is in Sulaymaniyah.

Even commander of CTG, Wahab Halabjayi, is/was wanted by Irbil court for alleged involvement for killing of ex CTG colonel.

US interest is always for professionalization of Peshmerga and against KDP and PUK factionalism within Peshmerga. But the PUK fear that if the Peshmerga fully professionalized, it will be under full control of KDP.
