Well goes both ways, Russian EW will already be upgraded as well.

Surprise it didn't survive, the GLSDB pledge has been there for over a year or more (I forget) while the US has Its hands on captured Russian EW machine since April 2022. Should be plenty of time to engineer the GLSDB to overcome Russian EW.

Purple A : 2x for god sake i spent the last 2 hours searching for this silhouette but doesn't find anything match, and no it's not Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier, New ROKN CVX, nor PLA Navy Next Gen 076 LHD. but yeah, that's definitely an LHD, possibly for UCAV.

edited* just found it,
it's CVR PA2, French Aircraft Carrier design with conventional propulsion, based on Queen Elizabeth-class Carrier, the design was from 2006 but then it was scrapped in around 2009-2012, replaced by new Naval Group PANG design.

Purple B : 4x Trieste-class LHD with ski launch
Purple C : 2x John Lewis-class Replenishment Oiler
Purple D : 1x America-class Landing Helicopter Assault
Blue A : 4x Maya Class
Blue B : 4x F-110 Navantia
Green A : Upper 1x Arleigh Burke Flight 1
Lower 1x Arleigh Burke Flight 2

“Uniformity has long been a challenge for NATO. In Crystal Arrow, allies deployed Canadian LAV-6 armored vehicles, American, German and Polish tanks, and Latvia’s British-made CVR-T reconnaissance vehicles. Each requires different spare parts and maintenance.

Standardizing big gear is daunting because producing it is a lucrative business that few countries want to surrender. The U.S. has about three-dozen main military systems such as planes, ships and tanks. In Europe, where most countries protect their national arms producers and often compete for export orders, alliance members use 172 models, according to NATO’s most senior military official, Dutch Admiral Rob Bauer.

Smaller equipment can be problematic, too. Planners have struggled for years to ensure that secure field radios from various countries are compatible, a challenge deepened by the need for digital encryption and measures to counter electronic warfare.

After the Cold War, such technical differences mattered little because NATO troops from different countries rarely fought alongside one another. Now, they need to be able to share equipment and know that one army’s cannons can fire another’s shells.

Alliance planners have set equipment norms and worked to ensure that gear operates interchangeably. But even for one of NATO’s most basic standards, 155-millimeter artillery shells, members produce 14 different models, Bauer said. Some shells can’t go into other launchers, while some may fit but not link to targeting software.

Many of the nearly 200 different weapons systems provided to Ukraine have come from NATO nations. The hodgepodge has created a maintenance nightmare for Ukraine, which has had to scrounged to obtain spare parts for many.”

Sama2 pemimpin yang akan lengser + calon pengganti.
Yang ganti Menkeu nya btw, bukan Menhan. Negara parlementer, posisi PM yang nentuin parlemen. PAP 50% kursi lebih, urusan internal partai ngangkat siapa jadi PM.

The Chinese answer to the so called 'Goddess of Democracy' I guess?

For reference;

How to deal with foreign-directed domestic dissent. Especially if most of them are teens.

Young Hong Kongers who defied Xi are now partying in China

Bloomberg News on Mar 3, 2024
Published in News & Features
undefined

In 2019, Leung joined a Hong Kong movement to boycott Chinese-owned restaurants like many protesters opposing President Xi Jinping’s encroachment of the former British colony. Now she and her peers regularly go out of their way to the neighboring mainland city of Shenzhen for cheap food and massages.

“Hong Kong used to have freedom,” said Leung, who asked to use only her last name because she joined what authorities deem as illegal protests. “Now it’s lost all that. So why wouldn’t I go to mainland China, where at least things are cheaper?”

Xi’s efforts to crush dissent in Hong Kong have weakened its distinct identity from China and instilled a new sense of political apathy. In the wake of the crackdown, many disillusioned residents left for democracies such as the U.K., where more than 180,000 Hong Kongers have applied for a visa that provides a pathway to citizenship since 2021. For those who stayed, some have set aside their ideals and embraced a new cross-border lifestyle they once rejected.

Travel to the mainland has been made more compelling by new infrastructure that cut travel times in half between the cities, a booming array of entertainment choices and low prices further driven down by China’s longest deflation streak since the Asian financial crisis. In February, Hong Kongers’ trips to Shenzhen hit a new high for that month since records began in 1984, packing the city’s subway trains and filling a new Costco Wholesale Corp. store.

That’s a boon for Xi’s efforts to integrate Hong Kong with Shenzhen and nearby cities into a region called the Greater Bay Area, which Beijing hopes will challenge the Silicon Valley in terms of innovation and economic output.

“It will certainly be viewed as an improvement of the Greater Bay Area integration,” said Dongshu Liu, an assistant professor specializing in Chinese politics at the City University of Hong Kong.

But he added the integration could raise questions about the city’s identity: “If Hong Kong is moving closer with mainland China and becomes another mainland Chinese city, then what is the unique value of Hong Kong?”

Stephen Roach, the former Morgan Stanley Asia Ltd. chair who caused a heated debate last month arguing “Hong Kong is over,” said the city risks playing second fiddle to Shenzhen in Xi’s plan.

“Hong Kong is at risk of getting marginalized,” Roach told Bloomberg TV. “It still has the talent, the institutional heritage, the rule of law, and you hope that all of that remains enduring features of Hong Kong in the years ahead. But many are asking questions about those very attributes.”

The Shenzhen frenzy dovetails with Hong Kong residents’ growing willingness to work and live in mainland China. A survey of people under 40 in the city by the Hong Kong-Guangdong Youth Association conducted last year found 66% of them are now open to employment across the border, tripling from 22% in 2020.

Natsir pas awal dibantu naik sama PNI, tapi pas jadi PM, PNI gak dikasih apa yang diminta mereka, diujung tanduk udah pemerintahan dia. Jatuh.

Naik Sukiman. Koalisi PNI-Masyumi (sama partai kecil-kecil) kuat. Jatuhnya dia karena Masyumi sama PNI gak dukung dia lagi setelah ketauan persoalan Mutual Security Act sama AS tahun 50an. PKI waktu itu kuat dibawah, protes sana-sini termasuk kakaknya Letjen (Anumerta) S. Parman juga. Masyumi sama PNI buat pernyataan gak dukung Kabinet Sukiman lagi. Tumbang. Jadi tumbangnya karena kebijakan luar negeri, agak langka ini untuk Indonesia yang biasanya pembahasan yang seksi urusan kebijakan dalam negeri.

De facto Presiden cuman rubber stamp atau tukang tanda tangan.

From left to right: Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Indonesian President Joko Widodo and President-elect Prabowo Subianto hold a meeting at Bogor Presidential Palace in Bogor, Apr 29, 2024.

In Singapore, Mr Lee will hand over the premiership to Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on May 15.

Mr Jokowi, as the two-term Indonesian President is commonly known, will pass the leadership reins to Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto in October. Mr Prabowo had secured a landslide victory in the country’s presidential election on Feb 14.

Meanwhile Saudi stance,

“From the conversations I’ve been having here in Riyadh and in Washington, I’d describe Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s view of the Israeli invasion of Gaza today like this: Get out as soon as possible. All Israel is doing at this point is killing more and more civilians, turning Saudis who favored normalization with Israel against it, creating more recruits for Al Qaeda and ISIS, empowering Iran and its allies, fomenting instability and driving away much-needed foreign investment from this region. The idea of wiping out Hamas “once and for all” is a pipe dream, in the Saudi view. If Israel wants to continue to do special operations in Gaza to get the leadership, no problem. But no boots permanently on the ground. Please get to a full cease-fire and hostage release as soon as possible and focus instead on the U.S.-Saudi-Israeli-Palestinian security-normalization deal.”

Basically MBS, “Keluar, anjing. Semakin lama kamu disitu, semakin banyak orang bakal jadi radikal ke fringes of political spectrums.”

The SDB failed to Russian EW even though the U.S has access previously to Russian EW equipment captured by Ukraine in 2022.

Everyone does it tho, quoted post below was Israel. I don’t know Indonesia has such capability or not.

Guidance GPS nya dibuat bingung.

IDF jamming GPS signals in Israel to prevent GPS guided munitions or drones to reach its target. This action affect civilian and commercial activities. Some cases GPS spoofing also used, falsifying actual location of the device. Most frequent locations for spoofing are airports in Beirut and Cairo.

“Today we initiated GPS disruption in order to neutralize threats,” Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said Thursday. “We are aware that this disruption causes discomfort but this is an essential and necessary tool in our defense capabilities.”

Yes, Russian EW has advanced so much.

Oh speaking of Indonesia. Am not sure the anti-Russian Indonesian formiler who spent time last year mocking Russia's ability realized it yet, but at this point, Russia is a lot better in modern warfare than most Asian NATO-modeled Army (incl. Indonesia) and getting close to NATO.

Meanwhile Saudi stance,

“From the conversations I’ve been having here in Riyadh and in Washington, I’d describe Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s view of the Israeli invasion of Gaza today like this: Get out as soon as possible. One of the things I notice about these rulers and their advisors is the kind of comical simpleton analysis they came up with.

"boots out ==>cease fire ==> release hostage ==> and we get back to normalization hooray"

Yeah, I would like to see Saudi of all countries to start normalization. It'll be a lot easier to discredit them, kill their talking points, and eventually the main goal, overthrow them.

==============================================================

I have always maintained that to kill the force of normalization is to morally kill the Saudi-backed Salafi movement. And there's nothing in this world that will help this goal than a Saudi that normalizes with israel after a televized killing of 20K+ people. It' going to be a lot of stress for their Salafi minions worldwide who emphasize unconditional 'Sami'na Was ta To'na' to openly traitorous leaders and explain at the same time to their followers why they need to heed their leaders.

I don't think the commoners would ever accept the usual 'We hear and we obey" while we bombard the internet with images of torn babies from Gaza.

That way we can make the masses add the crucial burden to normalize in these leaders (who wish to normalize) hands. Am not sure we can be a burden Israel now, but we sure can make things hard for their 'friends'.

Why their 'friends' first ?
Remember kids, like what I tell you in the Israel-Palestine war thread, you cannot march on Jerusalem before you politically, militarily, and economically subdue the Arab capitals. Israel knows this, that is why they emphasize a lot for normalization because they know what's coming.
Why target Salafis ?
Because the Salafis are adherents to traditional and puritanical Islam.
Why is it matter, this traditional Islam?
Because as Sam P. Huntington predicted correctly as far back as 1995, people will eventually return to their roots. That means the window of opportunity where israel could capitalize on 'abangan' Muslims, secular Muslims or Westernized Muslims to play to their tune is a window that is fast coming to an end.

Not a big deal right ?

This was written in 1995, at the peak of Western liberal dominion all over the world. In 2024 and beyond, Bin Salman and Bin Zayed (and his likes) know that they're under even more trouble moving forward. The Americans are not going to be there forever, and looking at the combat record of Middle Eastern national 'armies' collapsing against armed militia, it's even more precarious.

  • The collapse of the Iraqi army against ISIS in 2014
  • The near defeat of Syrian Arab Army against rag-tag militia
  • The failure of the multinational high-tech Arab coalition against the Houthis
  • The failure of Isreal to prevent Hamas attack

In all these cases, the Arab asses were saved to a certain extent due to almost unlimited outside assistance and not either their competence or their shiny imported weapons. They know it won't be there forever and making enemies with your population (who could turn against you) is a recipe for long-term disaster. Wrong move and in the wrong time, they could ended up like Ceausescu.

ceausecu-execution.jpg

So the Saudis (I mean Bin Salman) getting the heat from the development in Gaza is legit, if you think from their perspective. It's not because they love Gaza, but because they know the longer the war persists, the less time they will have in their throne.

If they think that everything will be 'all is well' after the IDF retreated from Gaza, I have a bridge to sell to them
