It is true that there is a tendency.@urban mine Is it right that unofficially there are/were kind of lawfare in South Korean politics that the Minjudang’s weapon is anti-corruption CIO and conservative’s weapon is prosecutors office that Yoon Suk Yeol and PPP leader worked there before?
Even some called South Korea as “the land of prosecutors” or Republic of Prosecutors.
Prosecutors have already become an independent player in the Korean political landscape. There was a time when Minjudang thought prosecutors were so powerful that they tried to take away their investigative powers to reform them. Of course, the attempt was abandoned after Yoon took power. I don't know how the situation will play out and what the conclusion will be in terms of which party will be in power in the future. Today at 17:00 local time, the impeachment charges against President Yoon Seok-yul will be voted on in the National Assembly. The fate of the prosecutor's office will be determined by which party controls the government afterward.
