Exercises, there has been cases real missiles were used to simulate targets instead of decoys,
Self-engagement, when left unattended the Phalanx is rumored to engage the ship's own missiles, or possible other ships positioned in close formation.
There is no clear information if the ship actually countered any attacks from enemy when deployed to Arabian gulf.

F142 relevant to be a heavy frigate between the ada class and the tf-2000 destroyer for the turkish navy?

No, this is Dearsan's design. Tf-100 is a different project. (well it is a rumor really)

I really wonder what TN thinks about it though.

It should have had at least a Gökdeniz and LEVENT.
It has 2 x 12.7mm auto-controlled guns. Plus a helicopter that can have ASW and ASuW capability; if and when the need arises.
All training and “Intelligence” ships of this ilk do not have weapons on board in order not to make themselves a target. It’s electronic systems are the best weapons it has. It should also be remembered that Milgem structure is a Stealthy one. That in itself a defensive capability.

It doesn’t seem right to have a warship with no weapons. But I guess Navy knows best.

It doesn't have stabilized guns either, only gun mounts for manned MGs that can be later upgraded to smart-stabilized manned MGs.
Neither its hangar is capable of allowing such a helicopter. The hangar door is now smaller, possibly only viable for drones since it best fit for intelligence missions.

I can't say you are wrong because at this moment nothing indicate that there will be tf-100 . but me personally I believe Anmdt when he confirmed the tf-100 as a real project .

I think that tf-100 will be the Istanbul class but with 32 or 48 VLS + some of tf-2000 CAFRAD technology .

I didn't confirm it but just speculating, it is just expectable with the current indicators and those indicators are getting stronger day by day.

I think there is a juridical reason for that. Unarmed ships can pass all literal waters easily without additional permission.

İt is obvious intelligence ship would be the first target in war but now we are in peace time. We can't avoid some international regulations.

There is no TF-100 project it is shelved. Turkish naval industry can't launch another new project. İ class frigate, TF-2000 destroyer, Reis class submarine, STM-500 mini-submarine, Türk class FAC, Ukrain Milgem, Pakistan Milgem the list goes on and on. We are overloaded with projects don't expect anything.

From that perspective TF-2000 was shelved as well and returned as entirely different design called TF-2000 again.
Same applies to TF-100 as well, it is not the TF-100 from 15 years ago, what called TF-100 back then became I-Class in 1 to 1 basis thanks to changes and additions have been made onto what is called I-Class in 2016-2017, the planned TF-100 then evolved into something else.

We will see it with a different project name ,or they will keep the old name, when it is announced.

And in terms of steel construction the naval industry is pretty much capable of processing those ships and more than that. The bottleneck is not the steel construction, shipyard capacity or steel processing capacity. Experts of the field know the bottleneck exactly.

Two projects are loading nicely and so far smoothly, according to the schedule.

HATS - Helicopter Arrest and Traverse System (ASIST equilavent)
NSSAF - National Ship Survivability Analysis Framework (In replacement of a western origin framework, software that no more meets the demand of the TN, thus a new model allowing more customization per region and advanced details is in progress of development)

HATS current, possible orders;
4 I-Class.
1 Dimdeg ( possible )
10 AKDG ( possible, with dual feature of handling S-UAV, in Turkish G-IHA, and Helicopters)
- TF-2000.

+ Some possible exports on platforms that are exported

Should we expect news from a medium weight 32 VLS frigate project (something like TF-4500) anytime soon?

Private shipyards can do anything they want. They can offer any design to any country. State projects are a different story. There won't be any new heavy frigate project anytime soon be it TF-4500 or TF-100 and this is not speculation. This is concrete info I have.

Seeing all the news about future aircraft carrier project I assumed navy also wants to extend in numbers and not only capabilities.
