Bro, TTFAC is not FAC55 anymore. It has changed a lot;
- Foremost change is the propulsion, switched to CODAG from COGAG,
- Then displacement, it was increased by some margin, TN has requested expansion.
- Maximum speed was lowered etc.
I think we will see the design in the second quarter. Some of the engineering jobs are finalized in Q1.

No, FAC55 is an STM design. Our FAC's in service "Kilic class" are German designed.
It has not for nothing the name "Türk tipi hucum bot"

It is just the project name, once those ships are build they will probably get a name like XXX class FAC. The project name is a general one as the tender to select the type of FAC has not been done yet, there are several shipyards proposing their own models.
FAC55 is the model of STM
General mood in the Turkish navy is to make as much as possible indigenous Turkish, only special items like engines and turbines are usually foreign albeit there are also works going on to have a family of Turkish engines designed build. We seek also "independence" in engines, but that will still take a while until we are were we like to be.

Damn, that's a disappointment. Was really looking forward to a high speed FAC.

I mean when there is "Defense announce about procurement" then Companies which have products come "as the tender" to find you and talk with officials and ALWAYS there is APPROACH to BRIBE them. IF they succeed then Phases of procurement is just steps which need to be done but Bribed persons already know who is the WinnerMalaysia's 6x6 armored vehicle tender;

. And it is somewhere between 45 to 50 knots, topping 55 in calm seas with ease.Earlier requirement was 55 knots at sea state 3.
Hard to speak exactly about the maximum attainable speed before they conduct towing tank experiments but it is gotta be fast.
