we buy those unlicend subs from sokor
Those were not unlicensed, whomever spreads those rumors obviously lacks the information on Korean & German deals for Type 209 in 2000s, those are simply not German, but Korean subs that doesn't make then unlicensed.

I am already bored to explain the matter thought here and there. Just let them believe with what they want, even when facts is already presented.

In addition, local shipbuilder PT PAL issued earlier this month a request for information (RFI) “to propose to provide Ship Lift – Design & Build Scheme solution(s)” . The documentation clearly shows the aim of this ship lift will be to support PT PAL’s future submarine production activities. What’s more: The dimensions appear to match those of the Brazilian Scorpene type submarine known as the Riachuelo-class.


The estimated particular of the submarine is given as follows:

LOA = 72 m

Width = 8 m

Draught = 6 m

Height (including sail) = 13 m

Weight = 2,000 ton


Riachuelo-class submarine specification are as following: 71.2m-long with a beam of 6.2 meters and a draught of 5.5 meters

Ours is wider.

They didn't use Astute 3d model again?

Rather just only using SPMT they also need wheeled bogie to move the submarine side way.

The one that the submarine will slide to the water stern fist, not like ship that will slide sideways.
Ships are also either launched astern or sideways, depending on the shipyard layout.
What i know since WWII submarines used to be built in drydocks right away, or made in workshops and transferred to the floating docks/Dry docks with lifts. Apart from the fact that submarines are much sensitive, they also lack the necessary stability and can be easily capsized while being launched astern or sideways.
Looks complicated, instead of in a straight line the shiplift is located at the side of the transfer area.

Rather just only using SPMT they also need wheeled bogie to move the submarine side way.
It is very obvious they lack the space for straight transfer, thus looking ways to transfer subs side-ways into the docks.

Yes, based on the satelite image on their document, I wonder when they first build the submarine construction facility they also consider this or not.
They were away of this, found an interim solution in the beginning by using a barge to transfer and Koreans have accepted that (or maybe proposed that at first place to keep costs low).
Probably the new contractor does not accept it and they seek new better and more solid ways.
I have suggested it before, it is for best interest to split submarine division from PAL and give it under joint management of PAL & Navy's submarine division at another location. This fits best to their goals to ensure a specialization and isolation of workers & engineers from allocation into simpler jobs to keep efficiency of the company high. Also will increase the inspection, repair & maintenance performance.

Indonesia has signed an agreement with France's Naval Group to support the local construction of two Scorpène submarines (similar to the Scorpène platform operated by Malaysia). (Royal Malaysian Navy)

Indonesia's naval shipbuilder PT PAL and France's Naval Group signed a preliminary agreement on 10 February to collaborate on the construction of two Scorpène submarines for the Indonesian Navy (Tentara Nasional Indonesia – Angkatan Laut: TNI-AL).

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) – which is not yet supported through a formal contract – was announced a few hours after the Indonesian government agreed to procure 42 Dassault Rafale fighter aircraft from the European country.

In a statement, PT PAL and Naval Group said the MoU will “seek to leverage the capabilities of both partners to meet the growing requirements of the Indonesian Navy”. The agreement will also facilitate the establishment of a jointly run research and development facility in Indonesia.

Florence Parly, France's Minister of the Armed Forces, who is visiting Jakarta, confirmed in a tweet that the MoU relates to Naval Group's diesel-electric Scorpène platform. “Indonesia has announced an intention to purchase two French-made Scorpène submarines,” she said.

Janes understands that the two sides aim to finalise a purchase contract before mid-2022. This contract – unlike the newly signed MoU – is expected to facilitate the integration of weapons and systems onboard the submarines and the provision training for operation, construction, and sustainment.

It is understood that the pending contract could provide the opportunity for a follow-on deal of an additional two Scorpène submarines to be constructed in Indonesia.

Riachuelo-class is significantly bigger than those RMN Scorpene subs.

Perhaps we're starting from that RMN Scorpene-class in terms of ToT to PT PAL?

In order to increase cooperation in the military sector, the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) held a bilateral meeting with the Italian Navy in Dahlia I Room, Avenzel Hotel, Bekasi, last Thursday (10/2).

During the meeting, the Indonesian Navy was led by the Head of Delegation (HoD) Paban V Straops and Marine Sopsal Diplomacy Colonel (P) Bambang Dharmawan, S.E., M.Sc., accompanied by Srenaal, Sintelal, Slogal, and Disdikal Staff Officers. Meanwhile, the Italian Navy was represented by the Italian Defense Attaché in Jakarta, Captain (Navy) Maurizio Pitton.

Marine Colonel (F) Bambang Dharmawan opened the Staff Meeting by saying that the relationship between the Indonesian Navy and the Italian Navy had existed for decades through the purchase of weapons and port visits, but needed to be improved by establishing an official meeting forum.

Meanwhile, Captain (Navy) Maurizio Pitton said that the Italian Navy was ready to improve relations with the Indonesian Navy considering the Ministry of Defense's plan to acquire the frigate type Fregata Europea Multi-Missione (FREMM) to strengthen the Navy.

The topic of discussion at this meeting was initiating the opening of Navy To Navy Talks with the Italian Navy as a forum to discuss cooperation in various fields such as strategic overview, information exchange, education and courses, officer visits, port visits and exercises.
