3) The geography of Taiwan gave them some buffer time to act and react
4) I think Taiwanese know their enemy better then Ukrainians.
3. Glad it separated by a strait, amphibious invasion is vurnerable at sea, pew pew the LPD/lST before they embarked
4. Beware the enemies from the inside

But yeah, having WMD, kinda having insurance for your sovereignity
Thats exactly what I mean , they are like insurance policy you never use them but fear of them will keep the stronger adversary away

North Korea , Israel , may be Iran
You are looking at it from an Indian prospective, there are only 4 real big countries in the world,Russia,USA,China,India.
In this case, you cant define a country as ''small'' by its territory.
Only Israel is considered small.
North Korea is big with a 1,2 million army,Iran with a 1 million army is also big.
Israel is the only country considering MAD in case of,which is understandable.
Lets stay on topic.

The one thing that I fear is that if the Mainland and Taiwan don't reunite by mid decade, then it'll happen by April 2027, and not peacefully. The Shanghai Massacre occurred on the 12th of April 1927, and this would give it a nice, centennial ring to it, something the CCP likes, as seen with their large parades last year and the various goals they've set for 2049, the centennial founding year of the PRC. At this point in 2027, China would be too strong militarily for the US to interfere without burning itself badly, it's economy would be on par, if not surpassing the american one.

Are those considered small countries?
France and UK aren't from an economic perspective, but from a geographical and population one they are. Granted, they got their WMDs while still having enormous empires, but they're still small nowadays.

Is Taiwan Next?

Unfortunately no, I'm afraid that the Turkish states will see the heat within the next 10 year if not earlier and no one in USA or EU will say a single word, even a token condemnation.

Turkey really have step her game in strengthen these states.
