I m Chinese and I know what the general public mood is, no one wants war, our mind is on development and getting rich, the government also knows this, China won't fight any wars unless wars are imposed on us. The country hasn't fired a single shot for over 40 years, in Chinese memory, wars were either distant memory or distant places which have nothing to do with us.

Their long range attack capabilities is not to be taken as joke. In my op they could strikes more with conventional ballistic/ cruise missiles (or even remote controlled retro jets) than Russian did to Ukrain, to overwelhm Taiwan Air Def .

That's attack what if Taiwan sense it and launch a counter attack at more vulnerable locations , In such volley of attack's may be Taiwan will cease to exist but is China OK to pay the heavy price and lose of industrial towns .

China may capture a barren land but it will lose more then they capture . Taiwanese knows how to increase the cost , its quite clear from their defense acquisitions .

China's policy is to win battles without fighting them

Foreigners can never understand the subtle relationship between Chinese mainland and Taiwan, Taiwan's economy is totally dependent on the mainland, mainland is also the number one employment destination for Taiwan youth outside Taiwan, all Taiwan entertainers work in the mainland, in the past, Taiwan single handed helped mainland China to embark on the economic take off.

Taiwan occupies the bigget island in South China Sea but why PRC an ROC never had any disputes over those islands? cause both believe whoever have them is having them by the Chinese.

What Taiwan must do simply try to bog down the Chinese who trying to create a beach head into the island.

Its not easy invading an Island while Taiwan has to use its geography well they should also try to bait the Chinese into fighting an urban war.

These Taiwan islands are just within a grenade throw from the mainland, during the low tide you can almost walk up to them, why PRC hasn't taken them after 70 years? Just like China didn't take over Hong kong and Macao after 1949, it's not because China can't, it's not the right time .

Its not easy invading an Island while Taiwan has to use its geography well they should also try to bait the Chinese into fighting an urban war.

I have many friends from Taiwan, they all tell me that China doesn't really have to do attack Taiwan, China just need to test fire some missiles around Taiwan and the next hour all Taiwan airports will be packed with people struggling to catch the next flight out of Taiwan. Taiwan 民心脆弱
