This will have serious implications diplomatically, either entire security and checks regarding missile command in india will be questioned or you get screwed for illegal testing of missiles without issuing NOTAMS
Nothing will happen if its intentional , It seems it was intentional. They have said "Technical glitch"This will have serious implications diplomatically, either entire security and checks regarding missile command in india will be questioned or you get screwed for illegal testing of missiles without issuing NOTAMS

We have no Friends in west , and no one in west gives a damm what happens here .our friends in west will squeeze on this given current situation
it was probably a test fire since missile had no warhead some version of brahmos ngWe have no Friends in west , and no one in west gives a damm what happens here .
My only point is we don't even know which missile get fired , if its Brahmos then I bet its intentional and its just to send some message loud and clear .
Why you think no one in Pakistan responded the way they normally respond . If its actual technical glitch then its the incompetence of next level
LoL then the test is successfulit was probably a test fire since missile had no warhead some version of brahmos ng
Pathetic to say the least...it would've been better if MoD didn't make any comment about it to save face. Also, I doubt it is an accidental firing since there is a process to launch a missile like Brahmos given how the trajectory was "L" shaped and such maneuvers can only happen if there are pre-set way points or sort...it's not as simple as pressing a big red buttonNew Delhi:
A missile was fired accidentally from the Indian side into an area in Pakistan earlier this week, the Defence Ministry said on Thursday, blaming the incident on a "technical malfunction" that was "deeply regrettable".
"On 9 March 2022, in the course of routine maintenance, a technical malfunction led to the accidental firing of a missile. The Government of India has taken a serious view and ordered a high-level Court of Enquiry," the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
"It is learnt that the missile landed in an area of Pakistan. While the incident is deeply regrettable, it is also a matter of relief that there has been no loss of life due to the accident," it added.

I feel there is a lot happening in background , its more or less like delivering some message .Pathetic to say the least...it would've been better if MoD didn't make any comment about it to save face. I was having a private conversation with @Paro and he made an assumption of this being a simulation exercise which I think might be the caseI feel there is a lot happening in background , its more or less like delivering some message .
Not sure if its intentional or its fluke one thing is clear Pakistan has no way to stop Brahmos . The missile travelled 134 Kms inside Pakistani territory , best they did is just tracking
Hopefully , this seems most plausible explanation , but then comes the point how can they be so lethargic even during training the actual launch happened and heads must roll.I was having a private conversation with @Paro and he made a very possible assumption which I think might be the case
Maybe this was a simulation training exercise (since there was no warhead) with way points set as the missile landed 30kms short of two military installations (airbase & cantt I believe) near Mian Channu but the launch was accidental and unintentional
We must've informed the pakistanis right away and also letting them know of the missile being unarmed which is why ISPR didn't make a fuss outta it and only asked the Indian side to explain. It was a mature act from both sides given how we owned up to it.
Also, ADs aren't usually active during peace time or they'd only cover critical military installations and it's extremely hard to take down an incoming missile traveling at Mach-3. I'm pretty sure we didn't have an AD system during it's flight path over our airspace nor did the pakistanis. Even if one of us did, by the time a decision is taken to bring it down...the missile would've already traveled beyond the AD's range
There have always been reports of how accidental misfires or missiles going astray for various countries ...given the Mi-17-Sypder SAM debacle, I doubt if we fully corrected our SOPsHopefully , this seems most plausible explanation , but then comes the point how can they be so lethargic even during training the actual launch happened and heads must roll.
Pakistan has all rights to ask for explanation
If we believe him then the missile must have some kill mechanism and they have destroyed it before it reached its target and 300kg warhead would have done more damage then what's visible and if Pakistan has the warhead with them then its a intelligence goldmine ( they can predict shape , size and type ) of warheads.
Not sure about it but whole green forum is ready to invade IndiaAccidental?
Well if that's the case then self destruct mechanism can blow the missle in mid air
Why did we keep it going towards Pakistan?
Looks like the pakistanis are also as clueless as us and aren't really buying the whole "accidental misfire" narrative. MoD's statement was also kinda weird to say this happened during a routine maintenance...it's like someone was dusting their keyboard and the dusting pattern accidently matched the launch codesNot sure about it but whole green forum is ready to invade India
yes the statement is weird and still have a feeling that its some kind of warning shot for Pakistani establishment . Do you remember last year some how bomb blast happened near the house of Hafiz Saeed .Looks like the pakistanis are also as clueless as us and aren't really buying the whole "accidental misfire" narrative. Given the size of the wreckage, it's not some NG or mini version but the OG Brahmos or the likes which can only be carried by a modified Su-30 given with strengthened undercarriage given the missile's weightThe ISPR is saying that missile was flying at 40000 feets , lets say its true then the missile was air version
Well they can't say they didn't/couldn't track the missile...that would mean backlash. It was an error from our end while pak's ADs were also found napping resulting in both coming to a backchannel agreement and tryna save faceIn such case its an intentional launch and Pakistan has capability to track aircrafts inside India , I am not sure how capable they are in tracking a low flying missile inside India
