Putin is in Ukraime because he wants all former Imperial Russian and Soviet lands to be under their rule or under their indirect rule.

Also the Russians are doing whatever they can to access more warm water ports.

When it came to the Russian take over of Crimea one of the biggest losers was Turkiye.

Our goal was to contain Russian ambitions in the black sea and they took one of the most strategic places in the black sea which is Crimea.

Crimea is just as important as Istanbul. When you control both you control the black sea.

Thats why for centuries it was a Turkish lake.
