The question is what optics a whole camera? Or just a raw kit? If is like using it on smartphones like Sony chips than it's OK.. Also this is not like Russia and their camera... Russia used that commercial camera as main optics.. But This from bakar is a mapping device "addon" and if it is not ment to do it in night it may be enough..
This is basically the same thing as the "secret" mapping drone that was shot down in Ukraine called Kartograf. It's not that special (except for Russia) and commercial lenses/sensors are ideal for this purpose and cheaper.

Chip manufacturing tech is quiet important for us.
We could start with duv technology and below 100nm in serial production is a good point.
We May need to convince taiwanise to obtain chip manufacturing technology. Duv machines is easir to procure.
I think we all have understood how important the semiconductor industry is for both civilian, and military purposes. But can anyone mention how they use them in defense systems and are they really crucial to have a technological advantage?

I think they are crucial because they are limited to stock and manufacturers in the world.

From Uav's to missiles (anything with Electronic circuits requires microprocessors).

Let me frame my questions differently. In which way can it assist the TFX project, and would for example 14 nm make the tfx better rather then having 65 nm processors?

microchips manifactured with smaller nm processes run more efficient than their higher nm counterparts.
same processor can be made to run cooler and consume less energy.
in order to future-proof the TFX, we need the provide sufficient electrical headspace to add new tech as required.

More processing power is better but the plane is big and can carry a bigger size computer with 65nm microprocessors if needed.

About the lithography processes; while smaller nm values mean better economy of scale and better energy consumption larger nm values can compensate to some degree for the processing power density by stacking multiple cores on top of another. Like four cores of 65nm stacked chip can provide the same density of one 32nm chip in the same die area. Also I believe interference resilience of the chip gets lesser as the nm value goes down.

ASELSAN Mini Electronic Assault Pod & Karetta Tamper Resistant GNSS System

Participating in the ADEX 2022 International Defense Industry Fair, which was held for the 4th time this year in Baku, the Capital of Azerbaijan, with a very large stand, the Mini ET Pod and KARETTA Scramble Resistant GNSS System drew attention among the products exhibited at the ASELSAN stand.

It was the Mini Electronic Warfare/Electronic Attack (ET) Pod, developed for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and converted into a product in a short time following the definition of need. The Mini ET Pod with high output power, designed to be carried on the BAYRAKTAR TB2 SİHA at the external load station no. 4, is a single type of undisclosed short-range air defense missile system that poses a threat especially to S/UAV platforms, against search and illumination radars in certain frequency bands. He can jam.

The Mini ET Pod, which does not have DRFM capability, was first exhibited at IDEF '21 Fair. An ASELSAN representative, whom I had the opportunity to meet at the fair, stated in response to a question that the current power in the S/UAV platform is sufficient for the Mini EH Pod and that the complex antenna structure like AESA was not preferred in the system due to the rapid identification of the need and its urgency. The cooling need of the Mini ET Pod is provided by the RAM Air method.

The KRETTA Jamming Resistant Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), which was put into use in the field in 2020 and is currently in use on land, sea and air platforms, is launched as the first 8-channel, jam-resistant GPS receiver product of our country. The KARTTA Jamming Resistant GNSS System, which consists of an RF Receiver and an Interference Resistant Processor Unit, is also used on Air SOJ and MIR SİDA and SİHA/TİHA platforms. On the other hand, GPS receivers based on smaller ammunition that are resistant to jamming are supplied by TUALCOM and METEKSAN DEFENSE Companies.

Does anyone have any information about aselsan's MEHPOD? It appeared in 2020 and there was no talk after that. Was is an escort jammer or just a self protection pod like tubitak EHPOD?

We have two products. Ehpod (Electronic Warfare Pod) and Edpod ( Electronic Support Pod). Ehpod is a kind of modern self protection pod customized for F16s. They both in the process of flight and qualification and next year they will be ready for use.

Yeah! I know about these two. However, there was also a third pod developed by aselsan (MEHPOD) and appeared in public in 2020. I was asking about that.

SPIE is an international not-for-profit professional society for optics and photonics technology.
The presentation slides are probably from the papers ASELSAN scientists published on this platform.

There are two articles that caught my attention. First is from 2018.

14 May 2018

Title: The status of MCT detector development at ASELSAN

Authors: Suleyman Umut Eker, Melih Kaldirim, Emrah Sasmaz, Olgu Demircioglu, Alp Tolungüç, Burak Asici, Ayse San, Berna Barutcu, Huseyin Cuneyt Erouglu, Selcuk Ozer

Abstract:
ASELSAN A.S., the largest defense company in Turkey, initiated research activities on developing Mercury Cadmium Telluride (MCT) detectors in 2014. These research activities include bulk crystal growth and surface preparation of Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) substrates, Molecular Beam Epitaxial (MBE) growth of MCT layers, MCT detector fabrication, Read-Out-Integrated-Circuit (ROIC) design and detector-dewar-cooler (DDCA) assembly development. Focal plane arrays with resolutions/pixel pitches of 320x256/30 μm and 640x512/15 μm are fabricated. Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference (NETD) of 320x256 FPA is 11 mK (f#/1.5, 77K) while the operability is 98.2%. 640x512 FPA provides NETD of 32 mK (f#/1.5, 77K) and the operability is 93.2%.

The second one is from this year.

Title: MWIR MCT detector process optimization studies at ASELSAN

Authors: Yigit Ozer, Olgu Demircioglu, Ayse San, Berna Barutçu, Beril Ugur, Burak Asici, Suleyman Umut Eker

Abstract:
As the largest defense company in Turkey, ASELSAN A.S. pioneers the development of high performance electro-optical systems. Starting from 2014, significant progress has been made for the mid-wave infrared (MWIR) HgCdTe detector technology including development of Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) substrate, Mercury Cadmium Telluride (MCT) growth and focal plane array (FPA) fabrication as well as Readout Integrated Circuit (ROIC) design. In this paper, recent process optimization studies on MWIR MCT detector technology are presented. p-on-n MWIR MCT layers with Cadmium (Cd) composition of ~0.3 are used for the FPA fabrication. 640x512/15 µm FPAs, which demonstrate the state-of-the-art performances, have been fabricated. Typically, over 99.0% operability and less than 25 mK Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference (NETD) values are attained with a cut-off wavelength of 5 µm at 77K. Among these remarkable results, major improvements have been recorded in pixel uniformity, reliability and reproducibility by revisiting process steps. As a result, process yield has been considerably increased.

Unfortunately, both these articles are behind paywall. If someone knows a trick to access these papers, I'd be very grateful.
