There will be several variants of the KE, twin engine, ghost, high speed etc. as. The TF6000 will probably be used in these.
Baykar is developing KE with Motor Sich engines. The final engine to be used is a derivative of the engines used in Chinese twin engined Hongdu JL-10 light attack/trainer jet. But these engines are of Soviet era technology. They were not built to be used in stealth planes. Or used in unmanned craft that can do manoeuvres that no manned jet can do. With sudden requirement of power and heavy loads on engines, the turbine blades and engine parts are going to be subjected to extreme stresses. This is when TF6000’s single crystal blades and new modern tech comes in to play.
Looking at KE, the design is of a very unstable looking plane. That means it will be very agile and quick in manoeuvring. To do it justice it’s needs a modern engine like TF6000.
Besides if we are going to have few hundreds of these planes with two or three different versions and some with twin engines, it would be stupid to import Ukrainian engines when we can use our own.
I only wish we had gone for a twin engined Hurjet. This engine would have been an ideal match for both trainer and light attack versions.
