Higher operating altitude, resulting in better coverage against low altitude targets like cruise missile. Is there any capability that the E-7 has but E-2(D) not? Except bigger radar maybe?

the most obvious for me is It has more console, more crew, and rest quarter, it has much better work share mean E7 can handle bigger and much more complex operation. Is there any capability that the E-7 has but E-2(D) not? Except bigger radar maybe?

How about loitering time? Although with AAR this is kind of a moot point, and the E2D needs more AAR for the same endurance.Higher operating altitude, resulting in better coverage against low altitude targets like cruise missile.
This could be solved by rotating planes in the sky, more planes= more assets to rotate. How about loitering time? Although with AAR this is kind of a moot point, and the E2D needs more AAR for the same endurance.
Ah yeah... about AAR, We don't have boom type yet so that's a plus for E2.How about loitering time? Although with AAR this is kind of a moot point, and the E2D needs more AAR for the same endurance.

I also would like to say that E-2 may use shorter or even unpaved runways in comparison to the jet AWACS. It is both flexibility and a factor to confuse the enemy. They won't be able to predict where it may land, or take off, at least as easy as for a jet AWACS case.Re: Early warning aircraft.
Although I can understand the appeal of the E7 and other, similarly expensive options, I tend to agree with @AlphaMike reasoning. IMHO, we need planes with good radar coverage and/or decent performance in more numbers rather than the ones with better radar and/or performance that we can't afford to buy more than two.
Having more EW aircraft on patrol can provide more data not to mention that there are backups that are still available on their base(s) for any contingency.
Besides, if we talk about the technological level of the airframe, Hawkeye is still within our scope if we want to - say - build the EW version of CN-235 someday.

Small but important for airmen morale wkwkToilet.
Of all aircraft on their inventory, why they have to came with this one?
Doomsday, earthquake, hmmm....
It has to be big jet powered platform then?btw, there is study about which one and type of platform about Indonesian future AWACS /AEW aircraft. The study Made by joint profesional from Airforce and UNHAN, and they are independen study not under business affiliate.
There is several important points they highlight for a while
Indonesian Air Force need long legged platform, operating from major bases etc. Makassar, Jakarta or Madiun in which already held excellent support facilities to support their operational needs. This would enable the Air Force to simplify their logistic distribution and needs. As their operational range can cover large area without stopping in the middle as they are likely would be operated far away from their main bases to the intended area needed the cover and then RTB.
Second, high performance platform and system would enabled Indonesian Air Force to support and executed complex situation and challenge they needed to cope. And the most likely adversary they face is kind of power who had plethora of complex AEW capability itself.
Third there is a big reason why MoD pursue very costly long legged platform fighter and as where they would perform in near future already clear as Indonesia is has high concern about South China Sea issue. If the AEW platform they chose is kind of shortlegged platform that's effort would be kinda meaningless.

After what happen with their MRTT program, I hope they get what they want this time. That's more like it
They Airforce already Drew the how they would use and operating the platform from the long time lesson of their Boeing surveilance aircraft. So they already have the picture
Bingo. I'm thinking the same, I'm not sure Indonesian airbase will survive long enough, the USAF is going decentralized in preparation for a China fight, I wonder why any country goes the opposite by centralizing their support equipment in big permanent site.I also would like to say that E-2 may use shorter or even unpaved runways in comparison to the jet AWACS. There's also the + of having tail hook just in case it need to land on our many short airfield.
Like the RSAF?Kind of G550 with AEW/C would be good too
Looks like he always go anywhere with that planeOf all aircraft on their inventory, why they have to came with this one?

This one gonna be chosen because it’s sexy. Plus sweet Israeli electronics, muah, perfectKind of G550 with AEW/C would be good too
