it's not KSAL who said it.
Between General and Minister, which one has a final say on which toy to be purchased?
looks like the defence analyst author in the referred article wanted indonesia to go with Type 209NG plan offered by TKMS alongside with 214 since he mentioned AIP, the germany side finally got some lobbied individual here.

based on some of the formiler information, both naval group and TKMS actually had quite tempting offer, the first one with their lithium battery industry investment offer while the other side was more into submarine production technology (perhaps including whole blueprints & schematic).

paying "pengamat militer" isn't enough though. If Yes, we should have been waiting for our J10 and JF17 land on IWJ now. ;)

OOT, no for the JF-17 those thing are started to be grounded everywhere, J-10B quite a nice option though...

Choices, choices...

However, to be honest, I'm skeptical if the other offer also includes the whole blueprints and schematics. It's not as if we're buying tens of submarines at once so this is kind of dubious to me.

While it's true that our military's arsenal of "gado-gado" weapons is a nightmare for the logistics department, but there's at least few major advantages to it as well. We're less likely to be dependent on just one source of technology, for one.

Heck, if someday we'll have more right people in the right positions, we can even begin to develop our own after learning (or reverse engineering) two similar things - in this case, submarines - but with two different countries' technologies behind each of them.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia (RI Ambassador) to Japan Heri Akhmadi attended the Tour Boarding Experience of the Japanese Navy's Frigate 30-FMM (Future Multi Missions) in Nagasaki on Tuesday (23/8).

There, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia (RI Ambassador) to Japan, Heri Akhmadi emphasized the importance of technology transfer in any defense cooperation carried out by Indonesia with other countries, including Japan.

"This visit is to see that the transfer of defense technology can proceed as agreed between the Ministers of Defense of the two countries in 2021. Favoured Mogami, but which one is cheaper? F142 has bigger tonnage tho

Politically and economically , everything is in favor for Mogami class. Even when the president's is changing there is no problem at all as long as Japanese business interest still in place

I hope there will be enough time before anything happens with Taiwan or North Korean.

F-142 is bigger in dimension :
- 4x8 SAM (compare to 16 of Mogami)
- 2x8 SSM (8 of Mogami)
- 2 torpedo launchers (1 of Mogami)

Mogami deal was $3.6 bil for eight ships. Not sure how much F-142 would cost.

@Anmdt any correction/additional info?
$450mil each, fully weaponized? Or like the 1st batch of jmsdf mogami, ffbnw.
