Bangladesh is very exposed.

They have a clearly hostile and unstable Myanmar as a neighbor. Their land is almost surrounded by India and Bangladesh is trying to balance Indian, Chinese and American influence.

They need a strong Air Force, Army and Navy to maintain full independence and avoid bullying.

Luckily their economy is strong and they are more prosperous that their neighbors.

Pakistan is in no shape or state to join TFX program economically. They will very likely to go with the Chinese option.
Which would make sense given all of 4th gen fleet would become of chinese origin soon. ( Turkey is very unlikely to allow TFX integration with Chinese origin jets )

Except Khazakstan other central Asian countires with small economies wouldn't be able to make big purchases.

There could be potential buyers in North Africa, South America and South East Asia. Malaysia, Indonesia should be still in consideration, As well as some other Middle Eastern countries as previously @Nutuk pointed out.

Whatever the economical situation in Central Asian countries might be ( mostly it is not bad) , they know that " peaceful " stand won't deter Russia, China and even Iranan little games, tfx is necessity for them. No North African country or Middle Eastern country would ever purchase TFX even if it is the best option , those countries apart one or two exceptions dislike Turkey more then anyone else . Indonesia decided for Rafales , F15 and kfx21 so will Malaysia. South America will go for the other options. So as I have mentioned, Azerbaijan Central Asia and maybe one or two countries.

When product isn't ready and not in the market, there is always lot of question around it. how it is going to do when it comes out? It has competitors, the customers are not suitable, etc.

The same is going on with TFX.

And 10/15 years is long time for lot things to change.

If TFX turns out to be a true 5th gen fighter, I can pretty much bet you there wouldn't any shortage of buyers. So, it is not very logical to count out lot of potential buyer that early.

As for Turkic states, I didn't said they wouldn't buy TFX. I said, those countries are small so their purchases are likely to be in small numbers except Kazakhstan.

As of your thoughts of Bangladesh...well, it is not the suitable thread for it.

But I will say this, being one of the largest UN peacekeeping contributer and security cooperation with small gulf countries has other its other advantages than just earning money.

The countries around do not stand still, so even if Bangladesh spend money in the future, it will be cutching up for the cutch up. Also defence is not something like the saving for a new car. Even if Bangladesh saves for the bunch of different fancy weapons it takes time to make something out of it, actually it takes a very long time.

We have to learn not to count our chickens before they are hatched.

For TFX to be exportable we need to overcome many hurdles. Some of which in broad terms are:
1. First flight.
2. Prototype testing
3. Aesa radar and weapons integration.
4. Engine indiginisation.
5. Serial production procedure.

TUSAŞ needs to provide for TuAF first. Initial batches are to have f110 engines. These planes are going to be very likely to have restrictions for export, never mind possible potential problems for our own use.
Once indiginous engine is successfully integrated to the plane, TuAF will want to have a good number of squadrons before TUSAŞ can be allowed to export.

No, it is not something like that. We can't compete with F-35 because simply we have no means to produce enough TFX in time to compete against F-35. We will start with 2 per month and the best production rate we can do is 4 per month. The F-35 project is a monster when it comes to production rate.

USA made this mistake in Vietnam. He thought that he would shoot the enemy from afar with advanced missiles and would not engage in dogfights. But it didn't turn out the way he thought. The pilots had to get into a dogfight. And suffered a heavy defeat in air combat.

In the next 10-20 years, almost every country will have 5th generation aircraft. Planes that cannot see each other from a distance will come very close to each other. And maybe dogfights will be inevitable among 5th generation aircraft.

In aviation, the rules are written in blood. You need to prepare your plane for any situation.

Bringing up examples from half a century ago doesn't help at all. Firstly there's much more context behind the failure of missile-centric doctrine in Vietnam. Secondly, since Desert Storm not a single air-to-air engagement was done with guns, bar the sole example of an A-10 shooting down Iraqi helo.

Moreover in modern ACM, AOA (and to an extent instantaneous turn rate) based point and shoot is far more important than traditional turn rate based dog fighting.

I seriously crave some news on Hurjet or TFX. They haven't been releasing any footage for a month now. Have Hurjet started on its taxi tests and gonna fly this month ahead of official ceremony? Is TFX prototype complete?

The TF-X prototype is ready, yes.

Don't know much about Hürjet.
