As far as I know there is no withdrawal from Bashiqah base. You can find that kind of bases like this in multiple positions in Northern Iraq and the presence there is of strategical importance. Other than the counter-terrorism efforts the bases are used also for housing and cover for special units and their main objective is the presence for the area which is of critical importance if major crisis appears. Turkey have a difficult task of balancing the powers in Northern Iraq and such presence is a message for everyone who thinks that he can make a move against the national security interests of Turkey without Turkey's approval.

The iraqi shia militias once threatened the base. We need to watchout as those militias are all Iranian proxies. If the base gets attacked by these radicals. Turkish Airforce should blow them all to smitherens.

The Turkish Armed Forces have all its plans ready for a possible event of that kind. As I said the case of the bases like Bashiqah is of strategical importance to Turkey and none attack over it will stay unanswered.

Those shia radicals are just dangerous as isis and al qaeda.

How it should be funny how terrorists love stirring the hornets nest only to get bitten then start crying about how they are the victims.

No mercy at all. When Turkey responded isis fled due to heavy casualties. 17 deaths was basically the start if they continued they would have gotten annilated even more.

With Operation Claw-Tiger the 30 years lasting dominance of PKK over Haftanin area in Northern Iraq is ended.

From the beginning of the operation:
107 terrorists have been killed, 269 positions and 53 caves have been destroyed, 265 IEDs and 11 anti-personnel mines were disabled. In addition 1 UAV, 169 heavy and light weapons, 4 mortars, 7 ATGM missiles, 244 artillery rounds of various size, 10 rocket launchers, 125 hand grenades, 1 MANPADS were seized.

Units from the Turkish Armed Forces managed to clean Hantur, Kesrok, Ghakhawy, Mamand, Koharesh and Haftanin mountain and tops and Pirbela, Evlehe, Banik villages were also cleaned from the terrorists.
