Pakistan's ammunition bunker being destroyed by the Indian military (via Indian MoD)
The Indian military today claimed to have destroyed Pakistani ammunition bunkers in response to the latter's alleged ceasefire violations.
Videos posted by the Indian MoD on Friday evening shows the destruction of several posts across the Line of Control (LoC). Indian anti-tank guided missiles and rockets can be seen scoring direct hits on targets, which India claims, includes ammunition and fuel storage buildings and launch pads for terrorists to attempt infiltration along the heavily militarised frontier separating the nuclear-armed rivals.
A. Bharat Bhushan Babu, Spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of Defence said the Army inflic heavy losses on Pakistan in retaliatory shelling on the border in Jammu and Kashmir. "
Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation using mortars & other weapons along Line of Control (LoC) spread across multiple sectors including Dawar, Keran, Uri & Naugam. (Pakistan) deliberately targeted civilian areas. Own troops retaliated strongly causing substantial damage to Pakistan Army's infrastructure and casualties across the LoC. Several ammunition dumps, FOL dumps and multiple terrorist launch pads have been damaged," the official said in a
statement.
According to the Indian media, at least eight Pakistani troops were killed in the “retaliatory” firing, while India lost six people including three security personnel.
Yesterday, Pakistan accused Indian troops of ceasefire violations. “Indian Army troops CFV in Rakhchikri & Khanjar Sectors along LoC targeting civil population with rockets & mortars in Tari Band & Samahni villages. 1 citizen embraced shahadat, 3 civilians including 2 women got injured. Pak Army responded effectively targeting Indian Army posts,” Major General Babar Iftikhar, Spokesperson Pakistan Armed Forces,
had said.
