Confronting Iran in Syria, Libya, Iraq and countering its influence isnt in Erdogan's favour alone but for Turkey's sake as a whole. Stop listening to Western media which portrays Turkey's foreign endeavours as Erdogan's lust for power rather than serving Turkish geopolitical interest

The only problem is Iran fanatics who can just blow themselves up just like the Russians.... Turkey cant afford facing such fanatics while it faces other enemies in the region

No, these are important and I believe I have already expressed the reasons from my point of view, in other threads. I am not going to write at length again. Everything that is happening now, every suffering, every betrayal imposed on us is preparing its own end, preparing the conditions for us.
