The head of state instructed the military to strengthen the protection of people and port infrastructure, and the Foreign Ministry - to intensify contacts to continue grain exports.
President Volodymyr Zelensky held a conference call on Wednesday morning to discuss Russian nighttime strikes on Odesa and Zhytomyr regions and other regions. He announced this in Telegram on Wednesday, July 19.
"Russian terrorists absolutely deliberately targeted the infrastructure of the grain deal, and every Russian missile is a blow not only to Ukraine, but to everyone in the world striving for a normal and safe life," Zelensky wrote.
He noted that during the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov and Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko informed about the consequences of the strikes.
"There were also reports by Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny and Air Force Commander Oleshchuk. He instructed the military to strengthen the protection of people and port infrastructure, and the Foreign Ministry to intensify contacts with partners to increase pressure on the terrorist state and continue the normal export of Ukrainian grain," the head of state said.
Recall that on Wednesday night, the Russian army launched a powerful attack with various types of missiles and strike UAVs on the southern regions of Ukraine.
