It is hard for an armored brigade to destroy a division in 12 hours but it happened; it was a disaster for the Iranians".[32]

Chieftains are definitely not ideal. It would be similar to the U.S. sending M-60 Pattons. Any Chieftains sent will likely take on the same role as the Russins T-62 and T-55 mbts. Essentially, stationary turretsfor the defensive, and units that can be used by reserve forces to occupy an area after it has been liberated.

Ukraine must block Russian Navy in their ports in the Black Sea.Therfor Ukraine Navy needs submarines. 120 tons midget submarines would be best solution since they are cheap, requires less maintenance and crew and very easy to hide.

Italian naval construction company founded facility in Romania at the Black Sea shores. Currently they are producing mini submarines for undisclosed country. Unfortunately the country is from Persian Gulf most probably Qatar.

Midget sub couldn't stop the Russian navy lobbing kalibr. Its useful for other purpose such as unrestricted warfare against Russia's own shipping in the black sea.

But to really stop the Russian missile attack, you'll need to locate and destroy the Kalibr carrying ship like the 2 Admiral Grigorovich, 3 Karakurt and Kilo 636. Which is easier said then done.

The head of state instructed the military to strengthen the protection of people and port infrastructure, and the Foreign Ministry - to intensify contacts to continue grain exports.

President Volodymyr Zelensky held a conference call on Wednesday morning to discuss Russian nighttime strikes on Odesa and Zhytomyr regions and other regions. He announced this in Telegram on Wednesday, July 19.



"Russian terrorists absolutely deliberately targeted the infrastructure of the grain deal, and every Russian missile is a blow not only to Ukraine, but to everyone in the world striving for a normal and safe life," Zelensky wrote.

He noted that during the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov and Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko informed about the consequences of the strikes.

"There were also reports by Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny and Air Force Commander Oleshchuk. He instructed the military to strengthen the protection of people and port infrastructure, and the Foreign Ministry to intensify contacts with partners to increase pressure on the terrorist state and continue the normal export of Ukrainian grain," the head of state said.

Recall that on Wednesday night, the Russian army launched a powerful attack with various types of missiles and strike UAVs on the southern regions of Ukraine.

Yes... Junk weapons in modern combat. Mobile coffins. I don't want to see Ukrainian soldiers in big, lightly armoured targets like Chieftains.

There are thousands of much better tanks (in terms of both survivability and capability) in Western inventories, that could and should be sent long before these old 1960's relics... Furthermore, there are hundreds more T-80s and T-72s in Cyprus, Morroco and Pakistan, that the West could buy / trade Merkava 2/3 MBTs for, or M1A1 Abrams for (in the case of Morroco).

The West could send Ukraine 500 more MBTs that Ukraine already knows how to use, by the fall, without impacting the operational component of their respective militaries at all. If you'd like me to name exactly who can send what and in what volume, I'm happy to do so. It simply requires the political will within the West to make it happen. It wouldn't even be that expensive.

They've already floated the idea that they would, at the right price. They're in deep financial despair. They'd gladly sell a couple batallions worth if a Western country was willing to pay a nice premium on their intrinsic value. They need foreign currency (especially usd) in the worst way.

I'd be shocked if they wouldn't sell 50 of them at $3-$4 million each.

They always are, but I've yet to see them sell assets like tank when they themselves are in need. On the contrary, Pakistan has a habit of buying used weapons even though they have to borrow.

There needs to be a differentiation between selling disposable one use only weapons like Grads munitions and high end combat equipment like tanks. Which Pakistan is outnumbered by its arch enemy India.

All this is true yes. But this will be a long war and with the current attrition, Chieftains/Khalids may just see action for a final time as well.
