The new ship docking and repair facility at BNS Mongla will be capable of docking and undocking at least two ships of 120-meter length and 2500-ton lightweight throughout the year. The life expectancy of the ship docking and repair facility will be at least 100 years.

The slipway design was proposed to BD Navy which was supposed to be built at Mongla to aid the repair works of the Frigates and OPV. It was proposed by Radiant Shipyard Ltd. and their consultant partner was Paper Boat Marine Consultant.
