Good news, I hope this extension will work as intended and serve KKTC well. I hope the operational costs won't be too much of a burden.

Ersin Tatar has been throwing money at Pete Sessions and lots of others. Seems Pete finally showed up for a photo.

It doesn't mean anything. They also had Sammy Wilson from the UK which that account tweeted about everywhere, ignoring the fact that Sammy Wilson also advocates for an independent Kurdistan in Turkey.

Just words to get people excited that "the advanced Europeans agree with our fearless leader"

True, but this is also a part of the thing. Some are believers, most aren't. Look how ANCA works with every single people with power in US. This is all soft power. A kind of soft power we can't dream to have. https://anca.org/congress/pete-sessions-594-114/

What’s happening in North Cyrus? And why is Russia backing our interests?

Russia is feeling increasingly isolated due to sanctions and embargoes.

Hence why they are acting nice to Turkiye as we offered them a lifeline in the global trade.

It's quite interesting if T.C. didn't ensure KKTC had some space enough for a road back then. Perhaps we did, but we allowed it to be used as UN line.

IMO the UN line is fifty-fifty split between KKTC and GC in case UN cease to exist on the island, So building that road is probably a way to ensure UN (christian club) doesn't screw over KKTC.

@Afif how come we don’t get BD UN troops to serve in Cyprus ? Not that I mind the beating UN troops are getting here…

I think there was some BD peacekeepers in Cyprus for a period of times.

Bangladeshi peacekeepers are mostly deployed in active conflcit zones.

The thing is (of course, nobody officially wants to admits)
Western countries mostly prefer to deploy their troops at high command and administrative roles in headquarters or where is no active conflict Going on. (Like cyprus)

On the other hand, they sends third world or Asian countries soldiers in the conflict zones.

But, then again, most third world countries troops are not well trained or disciplined. That's where Bangaldehs army's reputation comes in. Given their long standing track record of better discipline and professionalism, they have high demand in conflict zones.

(So much so that recently Gambia directly made a deal with BD to co-deploy troops in their country https://defencehub.live/threads/bangladesh-agrees-to-co-deploy-troops-with-gambia.16620/)

But I think, UN could redeploy BD peacekeepers in Cyprus if they think it would serve their interest better. (In various missions, Bangaldesh also enjoy some advantages like not having a Colonial past or geopolitical ambitions. And being muslim make us less threatening and a lesser subject of suspicion for the locals compared to Western troops. Like British soldiers here in Cyprus.)
