From this point on, we will see the difference the national defense industry makes.
While I agree with your point, we shouldn't forget that Greece can afford to bankrupt itself while trying to compete with us, quite literally, thanks to EU funding them up to the hilt. And so long as they fulfil the one purpose they serve, which is to be a thorn on our side, they will continue to do so.

i guess the most important question is what the dollar lira parity will be next year. ? what if post election the parity is 40-50 ? that makes a huge difference .let's cross fingers .

Isn't Turkey supposed to spend 2% of it's GDP on the military according to this NATO plan? Last time I checked Wikipedia the nominal GDP was like 1 to 1,1 trillion dollars so these 40 billion are still way below the target.

Pump the budget even more! :D

u sucks in math 🤣 40 billion are above 2%
If Turk gdp for 2024 is 1.2 trillion than 40 billion is 3.2% closse to Usa budget for its gdp that is around 3.5
I belive this increase of Turkish defence comes aslo because alot of weapons will be mass produced which needs alot of money until now no big mass produced

Nurol NMS/Yörük wins Estonia’s 4x4 tender. Surprising!

https://x.com/savunmasanayist/status/1714635524491599922

So NMS for 4x4 and Arma for 6x6. What about the specially made deminers…

Estonians should just call the 2nd brigade the Turkish brigade after the deliveries lol.

I thought Cobra ii was the favourite in the tender.

BD army really loved it for UN missions.
Our BTR-80 had no protection against mines and got blown away few times.

There was a plan to buy 600 of total LAV/MRAP.
But due to budgetary constraint, army only procured 100 Cobra ii amd 50 MAX pro. If the plan for rest 450 units ever becomes materialized, I hope it would be Cobra ii. (With ToT and local production.)

It's about time to raise the budget, incredible that we had a defence budget of ~2% or less for years even though surrouded by conflict zones. And also pretty hillarious that the Balkans currently is the most peaceful place in our neighbourhood.

I understand why some Turkish members would be unsatisfied with TN's fleet size, however one cannot overlook the fact that Türkiye is like an unsinkable aircraft carrier and Turkish air force can act a giant naval aviation carrying Atmaca, SOM, Cakir and able to strike enemy ships thousand km away. All the rival navies from Russia Greece, to Israel and Egypt are well within strike range of Turkish air force and land based systems. When we take these factors into consideration, we can see that Turkish armed Force's joint capability to project power on the surrounding seas is quite balanced.

No. We need İstiklal Class Supercarrier TCG Atatürk. :ROFLMAO:

Seriously though, Libya would be a whole different ordeal if we just had TCG Anadolu operational at that time. We need something like it. I believe TCG Anadolu will go to Aden or the Gulf when the task force is complete.
