It will take decade or so for SM 3 interceptors to become operational in meaningful numbers.
This isn't a counterargument. As a matter of fact it bolsters my argument.
No offense, but you cant really derived decisive conclusions about these high end strategic programs from unclassified documents.
Let's pay a witch doctor and try our chances with classified documents then, eh? :D

in response to what you said previously.
So the effectiveness of this missile is also highly dubious. Also:
I said,
Not really, the system still is in development, you dont expect its first test firing to be performed in unfavorable condition. Nor do you expect it to be the operational test firing. But, needless to say the result was very promising. It will take decade or so for SM 3 interceptors to become operational in meaningful numbers.

This was my end statement.
Add this to the fact that the US AEGIS fleet being already stretched thin covering for Japan, SK and USA simultaneously, and the relief effort not coming until 2030's with DDG(X) because of US Navy's scuffed procurement practices (remember Independence-class LCS?) and you'll understand why the US right now is simply not capable of protecting itself and its allies from a coordinated ICBM strike from Russia and China.
In the future the Americans might nail it down. They tend to do. But right now they don't have it. And that's the end of it.
IMO I don't think we will see the 2030s. Putin's THIS close to pressing the button.

Interesting find. It‘s well known that Park Chung Hee had serious nuclear ambitions. And all his subordinates were telling lies like hell to the nervous Muricans, hahaha.

The French were more than interested in selling the processing plant but the US side pressed them to cancel the deal. Without French tech transfer Israel wouldn‘t have the bomb either.

As a compensation the Americans shared civil nuclear tech (Westinghouse) which propelled Korean atomic industry. Korea exported reactors to UAE, supplies Russian reactor project in Egypt and probably bags new reactor deals in Poland.

Nuclear weapon programs can‘t be held secret forever. Right now Korea builds triad delivery systems for nuclear warheads when breaking out becomes inevitable. This time openly for China, Japan and DPRK to see. They tested the SLBM when the Chinese foreign minister was on visit in Seoul 😁

I come across many foreign dudes yapping about US wartime OPCON over ROK military and mock us as a vassal state. As if Korean generals would follow orders from US when shit hits the fan on our turf.

PS: very interesting that Taiwan tried to help ROK out by obtaining French processing tech. For Korea or also for themselves? They had a clandestine nuclear weapons program as well at that time or a few years later. Obviously the US stopped that program too full brake.

Yep its why I brought up Korea earlier right away for Turks here to take stock of as to how to keep things going...to have breakout when push come to shove later.

Having nukes without letting everyone know (or at least suspect) that you have them would negate one of the main benefits of having nukes - being a deterrent.

Only time anyone needs to know we have nukes is when a nation like the USA threatens a direct invasion of us. The problem with openly having Nukes is you will bring sanctions and embargoes your way as well as international condemnation, which may take 20 years to ride out. Considering the terrible economy of AK party, its not something they can risk right now.

So the rational position for Turkiye today would be to have nukes, but not to advertise it. Tomorrow if shit goes out of control with the American pkk project and the americans start to target are soldiers directly which is coming, then it makes sense for the world to know we have nukes. Because when that day comes that the americans flip to completely supporting the kurdistan project against us, only nuclear weapons will be a big enough deterrent to stop the americans from going all out against us.

But honestly i dont know how a country as big as Turkiye could keep it a secret from American intelligence.

Of course, by entrusting them to Pakistan
Since it is not possible to hide nuclear weapons in Turkey, you can hide them in a country that already has nuclear weapons without anyone suspecting it.

Dude, the whole Turkish political elite from the left to the right to the middle is infiltrated with foreign agents and corrupt people that are ready to sell their mothers for money but you tell me that Turkey is able to not just produce and acquire nukes but to also hide every single trace of it without nobody in the world ever notices anything. ..

Also Turkey can "hide" them in Pakistan that has an even more corrupt state apparatus than ours... :D

And Yeah, Turkey like most other industrialized nations for sure has the capacity to recreate a technology that was first developed in the 1940s but it never will. Because that takes balls and Turkish politicians don't have them.

I can't understand something either. Do you think that one of the number 1 secrets of the state will be discussed in party councils or in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, where the political extension of the PKK is? The place where these issues will be discussed is MGK. Not parliament or party buildings. There are also levels of authority to receive security briefings in government operations. Not everyone attends every briefing. They cannot be knowledgeable about everything. But you are right. One of the most important places for such secrets to leak may be universities. That's why I meant Pakistan instead of Türkiye. As a result, if you are unfamiliar with such issues, there is nothing I can do. I think I might even be wasting my time by writing this.

If two people know about a secret, then it is not a secret anymore. Acquiring a nuke is an operation with thousands of people involved in it- from scientists, to engineers, to bureaucrats, to military personnel, spies and even smugglers. No matter where they discuss it... you just can't keep it a secret.

That's why you're already carefully calculating who will know what and where. Everyone is involved in the issue as much as their own work. And people know that they shouldn't investigate details that don't concern them. If this person has malicious intentions, it is among MİT's primary duties to detect him. Apart from that, after investigating the relatives of the personnel who will be involved in such a project, their political views and all their pedigree, they also put that citizen through a lie detector test, right?

I will just quote a ex- president in middle east which said- " If Turkiye is threaten by enemy like (west or ruzzia) with nuke attack. Then enemy should think again, because Turkiye will get/receive nukes in 24 hours for themself"

What ever suit you. I am fine with you opinion

This nuke question and answer were given on CNN with real strategic discussion back in 2012 year.
Where usa and isreal media discussed the issue with Turkiye.

One of real problem back then were reality of nukes of isreal and Turkiye.
Answer were given by ex president of isreal Shimon Peres. He clearly said it. That if really Turkiye is threaten by west or ruzzia to nuke it Turkiye will get/recieve nukes on tommorow!

I do not want to convince you anything, just present you a FACT.

That’s exactly what TR_123456 suggested. Having nukes. And the rumors are old, back to the 80‘.

If Pakistan was such a good friend, they would give us the tech to develop nukes, a long time ago.

Can you imagine a Turkish Republic today, that hold nukes between 1000-2000 ?

The East Med problem, the Aegean problem, the Syrian problem, the Armenian problem, everything was accomplished and settled in peace.
Serious question - who says we haven't had them for a long time? For example, nuclear warheads in very small numbers, e.g. 4-5 pieces as so-called life insurance in case countries try to attack. I am not talking about the nuclear bombs of NATO (USA) which are probably stationed in Incirlik where you need the authorization of the USA but our own.

And who is to say that we don't already have the technology?
Turkey is not developing and building ballistic missiles for nothing. As a weapon with conventional warheads, they were simply too complex, too expensive and pointless for any country in the long term, as they are not as accurate as cruise missiles, for example, and course corrections on the fly would certainly be more difficult to achieve with ballistic missiles.

If a country builds or develops ballistic missiles, then there can only be one conclusion.
Either the country has nuclear weapons or definitely wants to get them.

Turkey and many countries around the world have officially signed a nuclear non-proliferation treaty.
Unofficially, a third or half of the countries have nuclear weapons in smaller numbers - I am 1000% sure of that!
Treaties are there to be broken because no country trusts the next one.
Especially not a contract on paper
