What type of constitutional change is president Erdogan aiming for? He already told he will retire in 2028, no?
He hasn't explicitly said.
“There is talk of change in many areas of the world. Sociologies, technologies, climates and many other grounds are changing very fast. In order to keep up with this, it is time for Turkey to get rid of the old constitutional text that contains the spirit of the coup and to adopt an innovative and libertarian constitution,” Erdoğan first said.
But I'm sure he wants to eradicate secularism in the text, as well as the references to 'Turk' as he views Turkey as the cosmopolitan continuation of the ottoman empire.

President Erodgan doesn't seem to be extreme enough to eradicate secularism from constitution. But that's just my opinion.

Türkiye's context or only suspicious of President Erodgan's motive?
Personally, I think countries should change/modify their constitutions every 50 years. Otherwise, some elements may become too ridgid and fail to keep up with the rapid changes that are continue to take place everywhere. Consequently, the system becomes slow and struggle to function efficiently.
It was pretty extreme given history to compare the independence movement led by Atatürk to Hamas, he has done some pretty extreme things already. Currently he's talked a lot about LGBT in context of the constitution 'to protect family values' but he hasn't explicitly said what changed he wants in the constitution.
The constitution has been changed or amended a few times. I'm more suspicious of what a corrupt government would change it to.

Erdoğan canceled the visit to the United States scheduled for May 9, Reuters reports.
The Turkish newspaper Hürriyet wrote a couple of days ago that Israel tried to cancel the visit of the Turkish president after Erdoğan's meeting with the head of the Hamas politburo Ismail Haniyeh.
What's happening to the USA? Where are their foreign policy issues resolved? In Washington? or in Tel Aviv?
If the second is true, then, indeed, why should Erdogan go to Washington?
Maybe he should go to Israel

My guess for the US visit cancellation:
- Biden team worked some kind of ceasefire on Gaza
- They thought Netenyahu would agree
- Americans tried to bring Erdogan into the deal as some kind of broker or as help for PR towards Hamas sympathizers in the Muslim world
- Netenyahu didn't agree, and Erdogan cancelled the trip.

No matter what deal the US cooks out, Natenyahu will never accept it
Natenyahu's own survival is now dependent upon the war. In other words, the longer the war continues, the longer Natenyahu gets to live
Natenyahu at this point doesnt care about Israel or anything else but rather on his survival
As for the reason for the cancellation of Erdogan's visit to the US, trillions of ideas could be whipped out but none of us will know for sure the cause; but we all know that a part of it is related to Gaza's deal
PS: Even if Natenyahu agrees to a deal, the Arab states will start to undermine it as to not give Turkey the spotlight. While we are only concentrating on Israel, Hamas, and Iran as the main actors, I can assure you that all the Arab states particularly Egypt, UAE, KSA, and Jordan are playing a role to support Israel behind the scenes.
Those nations are trembling on the pure idea that Turkey may get the spotlight in any kind of deal regarding Palestine as it may further reinforce Turkey's image within the muslim world and this will just aid Turkey's soft power and hard power in the future and it is quite clear that Turkey is aggreively ramping up its political outreach within Asia, Africa, and Middle East now that Europe is weakened

we may actually be its first target considering the european unilateral support for greek transgressions in the sea of islands/eastern med/Cyprus. When Europeans are openly supporting pkk terrorists against us, it just shows they see us as an enemy.
A part of the reason i voted leave here in the UK was because i see the danger a united europe would pose for Turks in the long run. the UK leaving the EU means she will revert back to type where she works to make sure europe is divided as she has done for the past 300 years. The irony ofcourse for me here in england was that the major properganda point they used to rile people up was Turkiye potentially joining the EU. So much open hostility, racism and hatred for Turks, but in reality its good that the EU breaks apart. The joke ofcourse is most english cant tell when they walk past a Turkish person on the street. They think we look like arabs/indians.
This was the crux of the vote leave campaign. Another joke was that it was headed by a Turk. You have to give it to politicians they know how to manipulate and take the piss out of their electorate.
