is undertaking critical missions with its integrated versions.

I can't even imagine the critical missions it is undertaking in Aselsan's facilities. Maybe there's a Havelsan-Aselsan war going on in Ankara that we don't know about as we seem to hear that every UGV or UAV is operating in the harshest conditions, undertaking critical missions, completed all the tasks and is ready for delivery. Wherever these things are "undertaking their critical missions" it is for sure not in the Southeast, Iraq, Libya or Syria etc.

I wish they had 30/113 mm gun on Tunga, it will be way more deadly
What? Mate, a 30mm cannon would be bigger and probably heavier than that whole ugv. That stuff would only be on heavy vehicles.

I stand corrected, I wasn't expecting it to be that heavy from the photos it looks much smaller.

Russia unveils crewless howitzer prototype​

Russia’s defense industry has once again showcased its ambitious military development efforts with the unveiling of a crewless howitzer prototype at the Army 2024 exhibition.

The prototype, named Klever, mounted on a tracked platform, is the latest in a series of military innovations presented at various international exhibitions and national parades, many of which have yet to see active deployment on the battlefield.

The crewless 122mm, installed on the MTS-15 tracked platform, is designed for remote operation. According to the brief description provided at the exhibition, the howitzer can be controlled from a distance of up to 500 meters. The system features an automatic loader capable of holding four rounds, allowing it to execute a series of shots before retreating to safety for reloading.


Russian developers envision the system’s primary role as an autonomous artillery unit capable of emerging from cover, firing a small number of rounds, and then withdrawing to a secure location to repeat the process. This design is intended to minimize the risk to personnel, who would operate the system from a relatively close but safe distance.

However, like many of Russia’s previous high-profile military projects, such as the Armata tank and the Kurganets infantry fighting vehicle, questions remain about whether this crewless howitzer will progress beyond the prototype stage and see active service.

I just watched this video


One thing stood out for me, static turrets. They don't get suppressed the way infantry do. It has to be disabled or destroyed. You can power them it with cables since they are meant to be static.

In Ukraine, they can use it to defend a trenchline, because they somehow found themselves in trench warfare in 21st century. We have a different problem. We are politically constrained against PKK/YPG. Since we can't just go in and end the problem at its source, our men have to hold bases against infiltration.

The turrets would be a fantastic solution against infiltration IMO. A field generator, a sensor network, a remote controlled semi-automatic mortar, some quadcopter drones with shaped charges for sudden armored pushes, anti-drone countermeasures, and turrets. Then an entire base can stay in dispersed and fortified places away from harm.

A problem I could think of is the weather. Especially mist, blizzard, heavy rain. Do we have sensors which work in that kind of environment? Are they cost-effective? Because if both of those are issues which can be solved, then we have no reason to not do this kind of automated static defense for forward bases against an assymetric threat.

This integrated solution can be exported to a lot of places where infiltrations are a problem. In fact, integrated automated base security, MALE drones and strike teams would be so devestating against Sahel theatre, it could seriously tip some scales. Imagine a PMC utilizing this combo. Hell add some more elements and this can steamroll even the more sophisticated asymmetric forces like Houthis.

They got a dog robot from china and put a gun on it, These robo dogs are very cheap and could be used to detonate IEDs or could be used to enter caves and work as a kamikaze drones.
What I was thinking is that cheap drones driven by AI, could be use to map out tunnel systems.

For instance you find a tunnel entrance and if the drone has enough AI and battery to run the full course until it either finds an exit or runs into terrorists, a small fragmentation explosive to self destruct, or battery power to relay back exit point. and other data it has gotten.

imo such drones would need to be cheap and very beneficial to shut down tunnel network.

Of course blowing up exit point would be the obvious choice especially if the data relayed back points at intersections, then you'd have the a second, third drone go to the brach area and map out.

I saw our soldiers using dogs etc where they get shot by the pkk rats in tunnels these cheap robodogs would and should replace them in the future, also another plus side of the robo dogs are unlike the pallet design unmanned platforms they are more flexible in small areas.

Even in ukraine Ukrainian soldiers were using these robo dogs to take out russian mines etc.

Yes, there are very likely noises, but a necessary step imo.

We want to map and find the exits of these tunnels without having to sacrifice human life, if necessary the drone robot could travel 300 m ahead of a search / kill team.

We might have found a good solution here, putting guns on these robo dogs is waste of time but using them to map out tunnels and use it as a kamikaze platform might be the best solution. @Saithan @Tornadoss check this out, kinda scary how they can lay pretty flat and get up immediatly call of duty advanced warfare vibes
