True, the number of F-16 upgrade kits weren‘t unreasonable but the price tag was insane 😉 US MIC has inflationary prices every year.

Our Air Force would like to operate ~100 F-35A, the politicians gave them only 60 to work with because of rising costs.
yeah, 23 billion for that pack is insanely expensive

KARTAL software received NATO certification in the first attempt

HAVELSAN, which has signed many software-based products in the 42 years since its establishment within the Turkish defense industry, has also achieved export success with these solutions offered to the security forces.

HAVELSAN showcased its competencies in the international fairs and exercises it participated in.

The company recently participated in NATO's largest digital interoperability exercise CWIX 2024, held at the NATO Joint Force Training Center in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

HAVELSAN's product KARTAL Command Control Software and link components successfully passed all of the NATO Certification Assurance Verification and Validation-AV&V tests, despite participating for the first time.

KARTAL and link components successfully passed special tests, which mean official approval of NATO Federated Mission Network (FMN) compatibility, in their first participation in the CWIX exercise and earned NATO certification. HAVELSAN also supported the testing and certification activities of the Air Force Information System in CWIX 2024.

KARTAL Command Control Software was developed by HAVELSAN as a basic command control software that includes real-time defined air image generation, surveillance, weapon control and some simulation functions in the Control Warning Centers of the Air Force Command.

Obtaining certifications, which are an important prerequisite for participation in NATO missions in CWIX exercises where the interoperability of countries' command and control information systems with both NATO and other countries' systems are tested, is important in terms of showing the level that HAVELSAN products have reached.

HAVELSAN, which has been actively participating in CWIX exercises since 2012 with the capabilities it has developed; received the Assurance Verification and Validation-AV&V certification from CWIX exercises with DOOB and KAŞİF in 2019 and ADVENT CMS and ADVENT MARTI products in 2023.

This year, 42 different countries, including NATO and the European Union, participated in the CWIX exercise, which was held between June 3-21, 2024, with more than 480 systems and approximately 2,500 personnel in 18 areas of interest.

HAVELSAN participated in the CWIX exercise with 25 personnel; and took part in the Air, Sea and Tactical Data Link areas of interest with 6 systems (KARTAL and link components, Tactical Data Link Management Center TDLYM, ADVENT CMS, ADVENT TRITON, ADVENT MARTI).

New competitive solutions to be added

HAVELSAN General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar made the following assessments regarding the two separate certificates earned in the CWIX 2023 exercise in his statement to AA correspondent:

"It is a source of pride to see that we have successfully passed the operational scenario-based tests and dual tests in NATO's largest interoperability exercise and received the results of our proactive approach towards not only today's but also tomorrow's needs. This year, we also had the opportunity to conduct on-site examinations and coordination in order to ensure active participation with our solutions starting from next year in the fields of cyber and modeling simulation. We will continue to contribute to the Turkish Armed Forces and produce competitive solutions in the international arena by further reinforcing our long-standing experience in creating systems and compliance at NATO standards with the new certificates we have received."

Per İbrahim Sünnetçi in Defence Turkey's latest issue, HvKK is in talks to order 6 more A400Ms from Airbus(maybe undelivered Spanish ones?) and buy 12 ex-RAF C-130Js.

Damn it, now I am suspicious if @Kartal1 is actually one of us or a highly advanced AI inserted by SSB or MIT in defencehub for early field trial.

Has anyone checked? I mean, he does write those long weird posts from time to time...hmm...also, it's Kartal1... (prototype 1?)

We need urgent 40-50 of those eurofighter to replace F4 terminators which in 2025 all of them will retire .
Aslo the replace is 2 engine aircraft for 2 engine , perfect but we should work harder to bring them faster in our soil .
There are some serious accounts hinting at something, but nobody says nothing for sure so far. Maybe we will hear an official statement on this matter soon.
