Whatever, I don't really say I think it was a great job or anything but again, kinda bullshit comment to say "worst". I will draw one with crayons and polka dots next.

and idk about Spain or Italy's works on nuclear reactors but I am sure Spain would make a good partner for AIP since Abengoa has made some good progress on ethanol-based AIP.

Spanish civilian reactors are either French or American and have no plans for nuclear powered vessels; and Italians more than likely will use American reactors for their subs.

That leaves us. Who will give us reactors?

I was guessing starting from near zero and if thats the case I guess it would be joint work from near zero if it ever happens. If not Spain Italy is still sure to keep interest in nuclear submarines since it will want a capable attack submarine for its carrier group and we will have a similar case for MUGEM.

No one, as such such a project is impossible for the foreseeable future. Just look at what Australia has to go through and they are way closer to states like the US and UK then we are.

I would be very suprised if this materializes in any shape. I think developing MILDEN further makes more sense.

Italy would need assistance just like we do though for the reactor. I don't really see a viable way for us to get our hands on reactors for nuclear submarines.

And that is why it is better as a joint work, at this point they are eager to bond over the UCAV subject after seeing the bulkiness of EU breaucracy. As I said once before: Bu üçlü çok güçlü

They are possibly aiming for SMR's that will mature commercially from 2030s onwards and militarize / navalize it past 2040. It is all about the feasibility, a nuclear submarine should also come with a larger dimensions than what Milden currently aims for.

Priority is Milden, the interview is slightly misunderstood at that sentence. Navy aims to succeed in Milden first to pave the way for Nuclear submarine. Milden will also come through blocks and the first hull will be mostly an experimental prototype. We are lacking major components at the moment, a nuclear reactor without a proper permanent magnet motor means little to none.

Navy Recognition's headline for this, "Turkish Navy Commander confirms plan to develop nuclear-powered submarines after actual Reis-class", certainly didn't help.

In what timeframe 15-20 if it even makes financial sense rather than investing in aip like the Japanese and Korean
I think for 10 years by now 2035 we will master civilian nuclear plansts like russian akuyu one and small ones like SMR and work on submarine ones and just after this year after we mastered all military and civiilian industries , produced hypersonic weapons , satellites etc we will work on bombs and by 2045 we will have few of them 🇹🇷💪🇹🇷

Permanent magnet or any kind of electrical motor is child's play for the Turkish industry. The real problem is a compact nuclear reactor that will fit inside the submarine. We should cooperate with Pakistan and any willing third party. Pakistan has valuable nuclear reactor know-how. Pakistan has decades of operational experience and Pakistan nationalized nearly everything other than reactor design. Our efforts are concentrated on scientific studies at this point, we are a decade away from anything experimental.

KARACHI: Turkish naval ship TCG BÜYÜKADA arrived at Karachi Port on a goodwill visit.

According to Pakistan’s state-run news agency, the APP, upon arrival, the Turkish naval ship was warmly welcomed by officials from both the Turkish and Pakistan Navies, said a press release issued by Directorate General Public Relations (Pak Navy) on Sunday.

During its stay in Karachi, the crew of TCG BÜYÜKADA will engage in a series of professional interactions with Pakistan Navy personnel.

The visit aims to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen maritime cooperation between the two navies, it further said.

Turkish Navy Prepares for the First ATMACA Missile Launch!

On May 10, 2025, the M/G MARTI platform will be shot with the ATMACA Anti-Ship Missile off the coast of Sinop.

This firing, which will be carried out within the scope of the DENİZKURDU-II/2025 Exercise, will be the first 'National Anti-Ship Missile ATMACA' firing of the Turkish Navy.

Are they gonna be quad-packed in Midlas ?
One would expect it to, as that's the main selling point. We've heard in the past that US wouldn't allow this, maybe something changed.

To clarify, navy did use Atmaca in the past, being the owner of the system. This is the first time they will be using it in a SINKEX not as part of development or acceptance tests but as part of navy training as part of the Denizkurdu/Seawolf-25

104 surface ships, including 11 of 19 frigates and corvettes and 7 USVs and 6 submarines, as well as 52 navy aircraft including 27 UAVs will join the imminent Denizkurdu-II exercise. Evet these numbers are a great show of navy's readiness levels. We know that 2 frigates are deployed to Somalia.
