In what timeframe 15-20 if it even makes financial sense rather than investing in aip like the Japanese and Korean

I think for 10 years by now 2035 we will master civilian nuclear plansts like russian akuyu one and small ones like SMR and work on submarine ones and just after this year after we mastered all military and civiilian industries , produced hypersonic weapons , satellites etc we will work on bombs and by 2045 we will have few of them

Permanent magnet or any kind of electrical motor is child's play for the Turkish industry. The real problem is a compact nuclear reactor that will fit inside the submarine. We should cooperate with Pakistan and any willing third party. Pakistan has valuable nuclear reactor know-how. Pakistan has decades of operational experience and Pakistan nationalized nearly everything other than reactor design. Our efforts are concentrated on scientific studies at this point, we are a decade away from anything experimental.

KARACHI: Turkish naval ship TCG BÜYÜKADA arrived at Karachi Port on a goodwill visit.

According to Pakistan’s state-run news agency, the APP, upon arrival, the Turkish naval ship was warmly welcomed by officials from both the Turkish and Pakistan Navies, said a press release issued by Directorate General Public Relations (Pak Navy) on Sunday.

During its stay in Karachi, the crew of TCG BÜYÜKADA will engage in a series of professional interactions with Pakistan Navy personnel.


The visit aims to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen maritime cooperation between the two navies, it further said.

Navy received ESSM Block 2? So I guess Barbaros MLU would be using them? These are currently the most advanced SAM missiles we have in operation I guess.

Block 2 purchase is nothing new, but this is much bigger news.

In order to be able to launch ESSMs from the National Vertical Launcher System(Midlas) in 2025, studies were initiated in cooperation with NSPO and ROKETSAN.

On May 10, 2025, the M/G MARTI platform will be shot with the ATMACA Anti-Ship Missile off the coast of Sinop.

This firing, which will be carried out within the scope of the DENİZKURDU-II/2025 Exercise, will be the first 'National Anti-Ship Missile ATMACA' firing of the Turkish Navy.

One would expect it to, as that's the main selling point. We've heard in the past that US wouldn't allow this, maybe something changed.

To clarify, navy did use Atmaca in the past, being the owner of the system. This is the first time they will be using it in a SINKEX not as part of development or acceptance tests but as part of navy training as part of the Denizkurdu/Seawolf-25

104 surface ships, including 11 of 19 frigates and corvettes and 7 USVs and 6 submarines, as well as 52 navy aircraft including 27 UAVs will join the imminent Denizkurdu-II exercise. Evet these numbers are a great show of navy's readiness levels. We know that 2 frigates are deployed to Somalia.

There are 500 meters between the shipyards, they use the same dry dock.

Within the scope of the DENİZKURDU-II/2025 Exercise, one of our SH-70 helicopters belonging to the Naval Forces, conducting flight operations off the coast of Antalya, made an emergency landing in the sea due to a technical malfunction, according to initial assessments.

The health condition of the four personnel on board the helicopter is good, and they have been transferred to the hospital for precautionary checks.

procurement of naval helicopters is a must we don’t have to luxury to wait for a naval version of Gökbey for years.

If I could ask one question (regarding our procurement for our navy) to someone in charge, it would be "Why on earth we haven't gotten a AgustaWestland Merlin yet?" It comes from 2 countries we have better relationships with, Britain and Italy, made by a company we have already worked without much hassle with, and uses Rolls Royce engines which has shown willingness to work with us before.

It is disturbingly clear that we are not going to have something equivalent for quite a while, even if we complete the helicopter itself, we currently don't have an engine for it. So, we are going to have to deal with other countries anyway, at lest we could've gotten some helicopters we desperately need from it.

I remember very well the reports years ago of the demand for more helicopters by the Navy, I also remember the credible reports of there being interest and talks for the AW101 by the Navy as more Seahawks then due to sanctions were impossible to procure.

It has been 3-5 years since then and the same people are still using the same excuses not to spend the money. " We will make our own" Gökbey flew first in 2017, we have the year 2025 and it only "entered" inventory in very limited numbers this year. Developing and producing an Naval helicopter is even more challenging, we would be able to do it but it would take the same time if not even longer. We don't even have engines for gods sake.

Türkiye, acc. to reports, will be taken off CAATSA. This is the perfect opportunity to fill gaps that need to be fixed. But even then we won't see the first helicopters until 2028 the earliest.
