Unfortunately our current admin has shown its cards and cannot adopt this approach anymore, and some of their base will also not tolerate it so it's mainly an electoral calculation for them; classic case of populism in democracies leading to short-term political gain overriding long-term national interest.

This is where I was going. Geopolitics should be played in a smart way, and elections should not interfere with foreign policy. When you sacrifice your country’s best interest to score electoral wins, you know you are on the wrong path.

You're probably in this forum for at least a year. So you must have seen that these countries don't openly threat Türkiye but covertly.

And how would 5th gen figters defend you from covert operations and asymmetric warfare?

Unless you plan for a direct war with Israel or Greece, there is not much use for 5th gen fighters, other than posturing.

Look how far it has gotten Iran when they attempted to get a nuke. Sometimes it’s better to stay under the radar and build your economy, attract foreign investment and entangle your economy with your neighbors, so that nobody has the interest to fight you.

In the Middle East, I think Saudi Arabia and UAE have the best strategies, as they are taking the economic, not military route.

Israel will have a problem with the interceptor missile stock if Iran keeps this tempo. Replacing Arrow missiles is not easy. I expect a big op from Israel to reduce Iranian missile stocks and production capability. This exchange is not favorable for Israel.

TELs are important, but one side of the coin. I haven't seen any massive explosion of Iranian missile stockpiles.
