If he wins the mayoral race, that will be one of the first shots across the bow for what the future of the democratic party and liberal/left politics might look like in the US moving forward. There's clearly a gulf developing between the the masses in liberal cities and their elites, along a number of fault lines but the issue of US support for Israel is a tense one.
