I recently saw a few threads in numerous forums about the guitar sound of So far away on Dire Straits' fifth album, Brothers in Arms. People speculated that there was a flanger, a delay, a chorus, or other effects involved to create the rather unusual sound of the lead guitar. And unusual it is in

Damn that sax solo slaps so hard.

I remember first time I heard this song a long time ago, must have been 1999 or so....and totally taken aback by that sax solo (I'm more of a guitar solo guy generally, but sometimes the sax just kicks its butt effortlessly lol).

Then 25 or so years pass and even rest of the song hits so different now, things have happened on your end and lyrics become lot more relatable heh
