it is aselsan’s kit.
the munition is probably MKE Mk 82 dumb bomb. Not roketsan!
So it is up to Aselsan to sort it out.

That is false economy. It s not feasible to shoot thousands of 30thousand dollar Shaheeds with 3 to 4 million dollar AD missile each time. You would soon end up spending billions.

Ukranians use 50 caliber guns fitted on to pickups to bring them down. We have a similar gun based system to overcome these drones. They can be brought down with EW as well.

In Turkish Armed Forces we had an unfilled position for a good loitering and long range munition/UCAV. From what we can see with K2, this hole is going to be filled. But as we are always aspiring to better any other weapon system, attrition rate of K2 has to be minimised. Best way to do that is to get stealth factor in to the equation. Even Iranians are trying to find ways to make their Shaheeds less noisy and smaller. The less they are shot down means the more of them are going through to cause serious damage.

Yeah, you can see videos of similar systems from Russians and Ukrainians, designed to hunt slower drones. One Russian system launches like a gun, soldiers literally point and "shoot".

Shit field of view? I mean, you can't see anything with the first design unless the nose is pointing right at it, which is pretty useless, especially if the target is moving.

Yes the advantages of gimbal is quite obvious but I was more talking about the reason for starting with stationary camera. Especially for Kemankeş-2 when they already have experience flying an extremely similar system

Among all, only Super Simsek seemingly doesn't need a runway, yet again the platform it is launched from needs a runway.

And we all have seen how these runways are easily targeted in the first days of conflicts.

I suppose the lethality of a kamikaze drone stems from the distributed approach, whereas launching these from runway is absolutely centralizing against these efforts; assuming we lack boost phase, or terminal descent phase interceptors, attaching all of our kamikaze / decoy drones to a runway doesn't make much sense.

All i want to see is the RATO capable or canister launched drone, kargı and low-cost alternatives.

For K2, Baykar claims unprepared runway capability. Roads, highways, fields, all are a possibility.
