Finding partners and producing 4.5 gen would already be a huge success considering how we'd be able to offer a jet to friendly Nations without strings like the west does it.

What about Spain partnering in some way in KAAN if FCAS is abandoned? Would not be spending on FCAS, so would have funds available.

It is not surprising that this could happen, given that the FCAS project has so far been a "pull and don't break"...

Türkiye will host the 2026 NATO summit at a new military complex currently under construction in the capital Ankara, daily Milliyet said on July 2.

According to this newspaper article a year ago, the NATO summit is scheduled to be held in this building in Ankara.
It's therefore not surprising that the first flight of the (KAAN P1) fighter will take place around the same time.

It was December 2025, then posponed to April 2026, now it is in 2026.

I am not optimistic about next month.
