But do we really need a 4000 km range, what will the extra 3000 km range over a 1000 km drone will provide for us? I would much rather take 4 small 1000 km drones than 1 4000 km oneSeems to be relatively small, a larger version can give more range. The Chinese drone that reaches 4000 km range has two engines. We have the engine options we just need the requirements.
It is not going to have 350+ km of speed, Baykar already stated 200+ km but it is not going to have much more because it is using a turboprop engine, probably something similar to they use on TB2. What you're asking for is turbojet territory. The Bayraktar K2, as a kamikaze drone with a range of over 2,000 km, is sufficient for the time being, provided that it is equipped with an overdrive for the final 20–30 minutes, which accelerates the drone to 350–400 km/h, and reaches a speed of 450–500 km/h in a dive due to its own weight and kinetic energy.
The key question is whether it can carry, in addition to its 200-kg warhead, two Eren missiles with reduced range (e.g. the Aegean, thus requiring less fuel) – I’d like to see which air defence system in the world can intercept 150–200 K2s, each carrying two Eren missiles. That is sheer saturation, especially if an additional 40–50 Super Simsek are added as decoys/kamikaze UAVs with their own warheads.
That would amount to 600–650 effectors, and I haven’t even factored in the ballistic missiles and Kara-Atmaca launched simultaneously from the Turkish mainland towards the target.
That's why I said the requirement is what is missing, meaning we don't need it. But this is for the time being. If comes an enemy who targets us from a distance we will certainly need the best we can make. Also having the technology and not needing to use it is a small development cost to pay when needing it and not having it is disastrous. But do we really need a 4000 km range, what will the extra 3000 km range over a 1000 km drone will provide for us? We can possibly say that Eren is now combat proven. Looks like the Emirati/Ethiopian Akıncı that was shot down was shot down by a Sudanese Akıncı using an Eren. Looks to match it. Would also make it Akıncı's first proven air kill.Turkish supported Sudanese army shot down a Turkish supplied Akıncı of the Ethiopian army.

STM just announced Alpagu-B with 4 kg warhead and more than 10 km range, but they don't specify it.

Be still my heart, I think you might be right. Also, the last one was a dud. That's kinda embarrassing. Is this the first time that KARGU used a normal explosive warhead instead of a claymore one?
Do you mean in the last seconds, the impact right above the V shaped blue marking? I think that was debris, because it fell so slow. But i can't tell for sure.Be still my heart, I think you might be right. Also, the last one was a dud. That's kinda embarrassing.
It's because there is a slow motion right after the explosion, look at the other debris in the front, things don't just slow down like that. Hell, even the bloody sound is weird like if you slowed down a video.Do you mean in the last seconds, the impact right above the V shaped blue marking? And the second confirmed air kill of Akıncı.We can possibly say that Eren is now combat proven. Looks like the Emirati/Ethiopian Akıncı that was shot down was shot down by a Sudanese Akıncı using an Eren. Looks to match it. Would also make it Akıncı's first proven air kill.
I guess we can expect soldier mounted C-UAS and eventually robot soldiers as the next evolution of land warfare. We can expect miniaturization of effective C-UAS as various technologies advance and converge. We should be thinking 10-20 years ahead.
Imagine a soldier who trained his whole life, mastered hand-to-hand combat, and ran 5 miles a day, only to get killed by a geek sipping a Sprite Zero in an air conditioned room. Modern warfare is wild.
